Gayle Hanah (Peterson) Beane

Oct 13, 2021

1937 – 2021

Gayle Hanah (Peterson) Beane, 84, of Fairview, Utah, passed away October 4th, 2021. She was the wife of Ivan Kay Beane and had eight children, twenty grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Gayle Hanah Beane was born July 29th, 1937, in Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada) to Albert Harold Peterson and Mattie Jensen. Being the oldest of five girls, she spent much of her free time helping her mom with the household chores and caring for her younger sisters. Her steadfast help was a great service to the family.

During her youth Gayle took interest in learning ballet and dance and became very skilled. She also learned the baton, became a drum majorette and participated in the Calgary Stampede parade. Later in life her skills in dance could have given her a career, but she chose instead to become a mother and raise her family.

After graduating high school, she moved to Calgary and met the love of her life Ivan Kay Beane. They dated, fell in love and were sealed on June 13th, 1959, in the Cardston Temple. In time they moved to the United States to pursue additional education and eventually found a good home in Springville, Utah, where they raised most of their eight children. Later, they moved to Fairview, Utah and found good friends and peace.

Gayle served when and where she could and worked hard to follow the example of the Savior. She took meals to the sick, comforted those in need, served in the Relief Society and Primary, and helped with the music. Despite her numerous health issues, she was able to successfully raise her family in love and with a knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a mom, she always found time to listen and counsel her children when the waves of life threatened, making the burdens easier to bear.

This past year was a trying year for her. However, she faced the test and never abandoned her faith and trust in her Heavenly Father despite the difficulty. Now she is gone on ahead and will be greatly missed by her family, but as a great singer has said, she is now “Safely encircled, rested and warm…in Mercy’s arms.” May she rest in the merciful arms of our Savior Jesus Christ until we are together again as a family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ivan, sisters Judy, Janet, and Pamela, daughter-in-law Ruth Beane, son-in-law Joseph Fullmer, and grandchildren Elizabeth and Lilly.

She is survived by her children Janis (Peter) Koense, Tammy Fullmer, Jennifer (Glenn) Sundblom, Cameron Beane, David Beane, April (Mark) Johnson, Karin Beane, and Julie (Greg) Nelson, and her sister Patricia (Rodrick) Jensen.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 12th, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in the Fairview 2nd Ward Chapel (131 E 100 N Fairview) with a viewing starting at 10:00 A.M. at the same church. Interment will be in the Fairview City Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
