Betty Ruth Smith Hall

1931 – 2022

Born March 1, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hilda Marguerite Nelson Smith and George Ernest Smith. Passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2022 in Mount Pleasant Utah at 91 years old.

She was born and raised in Salt Lake City Utah where she met and married her sweetheart Gratton Emmett “Red” Hall, October 6, 1948. They were married for 72 years before he passed in 2020. Their marriage was later solemnized December 12, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA Temple.

She loved being a wife and homemaker while raising her five amazing children. Red was a Contractor, so Betty learned how to do accounting and drawing plans. She also received her Real Estate License, Insurance License and Brokers License. She received several awards, trips, and many prizes for her hard work.

Betty is survived by her children Carol “CJ” Hall Baker (Steve), Robert “Bob” Hall (Joyce), Rock G. Hall, Joy Hall Richardson (Don), 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gratton “Red” Hall, her daughter Linda “Lynda” Rae Hall Arave, grandson Trent Hall, granddaughter Brittany Marie DeLuca, twin great great granddaughters Talya and Nevaeh Scerbo.

She was the very last of her siblings and siblings spouses to leave this existence. Preceded by Alfred Prudence, Elaine Smith Hoecherl (Ray), Wayne Smith (Anita), LaVar Smith (Patty), Marilyn Smith Paterson (Scott) & Gary Smith.

There will be a viewing at the Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt Pleasant, Utah on July 9th at 10:00 am, and the funeral services will take place there as well at 11:00 am, The burial will be at the Fairview City Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Luncheon will be served thereafter at the Fairview Senior Citizens Center in Fairview, Utah.

Many thanks to the amazing and kind staff at the Good Life Senior Living and Memory Care Center in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. They served our mother with such kindness and love. We will be forever indebted to them all. We would also like to thank the Gunnison Home Health & Hospice staff, who were there in every step of this long journey with support and incredible care.
