Aug 30, 2023

April 20th, 1935-August 24th, 2023

Our dear mother, grandmother, & angel on earth surrounded by her family passed from this life to the next on August 24, 2023 and was reunited with her eternal companion.

Margaret was born April 20th, 1935 to Earl E. and Bessie Nielsen. She was the third of four children and a real Momma’s girl. Margaret grew up in Nephi, Utah and attended school at Juab High School. She was in the school band and played a snare drum. She was very quiet as a young girl but always kind to everyone around her. Margaret met her sweetheart & true love at a very young age, and the rest was history. She married Bobbie Donnell Olsen on May 2, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 8, 1986. As a very young couple, the two of them had to work mighty hard. Marriage didn’t always come easy for them, but they were a true testament and example of what a strong marriage can be. They were inseparable and enjoyed over 71 years of marriage creating a wonderful life and posterity together that included 7 children, 27 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and many more bonus grandchildren. Margaret was tough as nails and spent her life raising her children, grandchildren, and serving those around her. Family was her world, and her favorite place to be was with them. She especially loved the little ones, and if there was a baby around it usually found it’s way to Grandma’s arms. As the kids grew, you often found Grandma & Grandpa in the stands supporting them in whatever it may be.

Margaret had the kindest, most patient heart, and you never heard her speak unkind of anyone or raise her voice. She was full of compliments, and you could expect her to offer a compliment every time she spoke to someone. The simple things in life brought her the most joy! From a very young age, she loved animals of all kinds and made room for them in her house. In her last years of life, you never found her without her dog Diamond. Her and grandpa spent countless hours singing together while he played the guitar. She enjoyed being outdoors, watching soap operas, wearing jewelry, and her daily drives with Grandpa. She loved yard sales just as much as he did which led them to being collectors of many things. Some of her collections included porcelain dolls, salt/pepper shakers, and coins.

She thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker and was an exceptional cook. The family always looked forward to her Potato Salad & Lemon Meringue Pie on Thanksgiving. To the grandkids, she was famous for her sugar bread. It was their favorite treat when they came to visit.

She was a strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many callings throughout her life. Primary with the children was always her favorite. She loved the temple and looked forward to going often with her sweetheart.

Margaret lived a life full of love and was an example to all of us. As much as we will miss her, We are so happy she is reunited with her sweetheart, and look forward to seeing them both again someday!

She is survived by children: Margie (Brent) Aagard of Levan; Fawnda Olsen of Spring City; Linda (David) Shepherd of Levan; Kelly (Janet) Olsen of Spring City; Patty (Larry) Edmunds of Spring City; Julie (Jay) Nielsen of Moroni; and Bart (Marci) Olsen of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by her younger brother Lawrence (Bonnie) Nielsen.

She is preceded in death by her love Bobbie Donnell Olsen, son Michael Olsen, parents Earl & Bessie Nielsen, sisters Sharlene Allred, Bonita Corry, granddaughter Leslie, great grandsons Tytan, Trighton, Chaz, Drake, and a great great grandson Kaison.

The family would like to thank Good Life Senior Living of Mt. Pleasant, Gunnison Home Health & Hospice for taking such good care of her in her last days.
