LaWana was born August 6, 1934 in Fairview Utah to Gardell and Alta Amundsen Osborne. She married Lee McKean Shepherd on December 27, 1952 in the Manti Temple.

She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and loved people unconditionally. She served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. LaWana loved music and was a beautiful pianist and organist and used her talents to serve and bless the lives of others. She loved serving a mission for the church with her husband in San Diego, CA. She loved family history and finding “connections” with everyone. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: (Meg) Shepherd; Paul (Loretta) Shepherd, both of South Jordan; Tami (Darrell) Hanks, of Herriman; Tracey (Karl) Graham, of Renton, WA; Gina Shepherd, of Fullerton, CA; and Jill (Mike) Christianson, of Spanish Fork. Sister: Jeri Brady; 18 Grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

LaWana was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Mark Shepherd; her parents; sister, Jeanette Terry and brother, Larry Osborne.

A special thank you to all of the wonderful hospice workers, especially Addison, Heather, Anne, Justine, and all her doctors and nurses, but most of all to Melissa, Lily, Mason, Chase and all her family and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Spanish Fork South Stake Center, 870 E. Canyon Road Spanish Fork, Utah. Viewing was held Friday evening February 10, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 and prior to funeral services 9:30-10:45 at the same location. Interment was in the Fairview City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Services can be viewed at walkermemorials.com.
