Jeannie gained an extraordinary work ethic as a young child while working alongside her parents, and often reminisced about the songs her dad would whistle while working together in the fields, tending animals, or burning ditches. She loved horses, and spent many hours on horseback whether it was 4-H, horse-shows or as the Rodeo Queen. She worked for the North Sanpete school district for 28 years in various positions but most recently in the transportation department.

She was baptized a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2010 and remained a faithful member for the rest of her life.

She was the best mom, grandma, friend, and brought so much love, compassion and kindness to those lucky enough to know her. Her smile could light up a room, and her laugh was contagious. She always found the good in every situation and touched many lives. She was a force and a fighter until the end, and an inspiration to many. After nearly 4 years of a hard-fought battle with cancer, knowing she did as much as she could, and that she was loved and strong, she said, “see you in a little while.”

Jeannie is survived by her children, Dustin Sorensen, Jacelyn (Brady) Hansen, and Tallen Sorensen; siblings Bill (Neita) Sorensen, and Edith (Jim) Greenan; grandchildren Trace and Taft Hansen, and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Betty Sorensen, and daughter Sharlee Sorensen.
