William Don Trump

Feb 7, 2024

1999 – 2024

William Don Trump passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Round Lake, Illinois. He was 24 years old.

William was born in Libertyville, Illinois, on October 24, 1999, to Shelley (Hill) Trump and Jeffrey Trump. He has spent his time since then making people laugh. As a child, William was a great entertainer, a goofball in pursuit of the best jokes and pranks. His sense of humor was a great source of enjoyment for his family, who loved seeing his personality shine through.

William had a soft soul. He had a perpetual fondness for llamas. William loved his cat, Harry, and his family’s dogs, Biscuit and Addy. He was not a bold presence, but sought always to be a peacemaker. William was never demanding. He was intentional and thoughtful, always carefully considering his desires in life.

William was an avid and accomplished gamer and over the years expressed a continual interest in computers. He enjoyed reading and audiobooks, often preferring tales of fantasy and science fiction. He had dear friends online with whom he engaged in these pastimes. William was an excellent baker, and particularly enjoyed the fruits of these labors. He also enjoyed fitness, and expressed his dedicated character through his cycling and running regimen. William was in the final semester of his Associate’s Degree at the College of Lake County, where he discovered an interest in anthropology and consistently excelled in his courses. His dedicated nature was further demonstrated through his accomplishments as a Boy Scout, which included receiving the Order of the Arrow and achieving the status of Eagle Scout following a massive service project.

William is survived by his parents, Shelley (Hill) Trump and Jeffrey Trump, his sister, Liz Trump, and his grandfather, Ronald Trump, as well as by many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in passing by his grandparents: Melba (Shelley) Hill and Don Hill; Janett (Watson Trump) Mallard and Raymond Mallard; and Lynda (Burrows) Trump.

William’s quiet, gentle presence will be mourned and missed. It is the hope of his family that his pain is now eased, that he will find eternal peace and feel deeply the love of those who have lost him.

In lieu of flowers, please consider reaching out to someone who is lonely, discouraged, or depressed. Invite them to lunch and have a burger in William’s honor. Share the reasons you have for hope and why life is better with them in it. Then remember to keep in touch and continue to encourage them. We all need each other.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant 4th /5th Ward Chapel at 49 South State Street with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com.
