Sandra Stewart Swasey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, at the age of 80, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born on April 29, 1944, in Milburn, Utah, where she spent her early years. She was a lifelong example of love, service, and dedication to her family, faith, and community.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents VanNoy and Alice Stewart, her brother Gaylan Stewart, her sister Koleen Peterson Helmka, and her son Jeffrey Swasey. She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband of sixty-three years, Vernon Swasey. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Smith (Don), and her sons: Michael Swasey (Renee) of Louisville, Kentucky; Brent Swasey (Laurie) of Mapleton, Utah; Kevin Swasey (Kelly) of Payson, Utah; and Steven Swasey (Heather) of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Sandra’s legacy continues through her 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

Sandra spent 27 years of her life in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, where she lovingly raised her sons and worked for the University of Missouri. After her retirement, she returned to her roots in Milburn, Utah, where she found great fulfillment in serving in the temple and dedicating herself to family history work for the next 24 years.

Sandra will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and her tireless efforts to preserve and honor the past through her work in family history. Her life was a testament to the power of faith and the importance of family, and she will be deeply missed by all who know and love her.

A funeral service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:00pm (Viewing at 11:30am) at the Indianola Ward Meetinghouse, 8060 East 36500 North, Indianola, UT 84629.
