Ryker Hewitt, age 40, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Saint Mark’s Hospital ICU. He died unexpectedly after a long battle with acute respiratory failure.

Ryker was born in Provo, Utah, on September 8, 1986. Throughout his life, he was known for his generous, helpful, and deeply forgiving nature. People knew Ryker wherever he went-he had a charismatic way about him that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He loved being involved in Search and Rescue efforts and took pride in lending his skills wherever they were needed. A true handyman, he built fences, fixed what others couldn’t and found joy in working as a ranch hand. Ryker was the kind of person who asked others how he could help them, and he meant it every time. His presence was warm, memorable, and impossible to forget, and he carried that gift with him through every stage of his life.

Ryker is survived by his wife, Alicia; his five sons: Dameion, Luceion, Caleb, Julius, and Jason; his mother, Julie; his step-father, Terje; his mother-in-law, Dianna; his siblings, Rachele, Amy, Wesley, and Alec; and his self-adopted brother, Jeremy. He also leaves behind his grandmothers, De and Martha, along with many self-adopted brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers he gathered throughout his life. He was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his grandfathers, Bryce and Larry; and his beloved cousin, Blanche.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 5, at the Mount Pleasant North Stake Center. A viewing was held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to services. Burial followed at the Upper Fairview Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com

Ryker’s life touched countless hearts, and his memory will continue to live on in the many people who loved him. His kindness, charisma, and forgiving nature left an imprint that will never fade. He will be deeply missed.
