Outlook: Salem Hills grows them tall and athletic at receiver, and it’s been a big boon for the program throughout the years. But this year it may prove better than ever with several long receiver looking to take the lead, beginning with BYU commit Peyton Higginson.

“We really have some guys who aren’t just tall, but athletic and know how to make plays,” said Salem Hills coach Jim Higginson. “We got a great quarterback and we’re really excited about the potential we have offensively.”

Of course all of it has to come together, and moving forward to this coming season, Coach Higginson feels the potential has never been higher for his team.

“I really, really like the work and the attitude of this team, and I feel we can do something special this season,” he said. “I’ve never coached a team this talented and with this much potential. Of course we have to do it on the field, but I like the camaraderie that’s been developed through the offseason and I feel we’re going to have the potential to be a special team this season.”

What is your favorite team-building activity? “We always have a team BBQ where we go up and talk about our challenges we face personally and our biggest strengths,” Coach Higginson said. “We then identify what we want this team to be known as and we share all of it in a setting that’s private. And then we do a lot of service projects and every guy shows up, which is great to see.”
