Preece rank the top five Utah Valley teams in boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling and girls wrestling for the week of Jan. 12.
BOYS BASKETBALL
1. Timpview 13-1
The Thunderbirds left little doubt which team is best in the valley with a 72-36 thumping of Orem.
2. Westlake 14-0
The Thunder have yet to drop a game this season and bulldozed Cedar Valley 75-38.
3. American Fork 9-6
The Cavemen took a solid opening region win over Lehi and will now look to take on rival Lone Peak.
4. Skyridge 10-3
The Falcons enter the rankings after somewhat quietly accumulating a stellar 10-3 mark on the season.
5. Springville 9-5
The Red Devils begin region play following a tough loss to powerhouse Layton Christian.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
1. Pleasant Grove 15-0
