The line to get into the Maple Mountain High football field on Saturday stretched out to at least 100 yards, and for good reason.
I mean, when else are you going to have the opportunity to catch a pass from and receive instruction from BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier and receiver Tiger Bachmeier?
Saturday marked the first ever Flexwork sports Experiential event for youth athletes featuring both Cougar football players. The camp lasted around four hours with the highlight being the camp rotation when the youth were granted the opportunity to run patterns with and even catch footballs thrown to them by both brothers.
“We always want to give back to the community,” said Bear Bachmeier. “I love being at BYU, and the mission statement (is) to be men of service, so we love being out here with the kids and they’re having so much fun … It’s putting a smile on our faces and theirs.”
Indeed the Bachmeiers, and particularly Bear have become big deals within the local community due to their play last season with the promise of even better play going forward to the 2026 season. Bear expressed gratitude to the community and relished the opportunity he had on Saturday to give back in any way possible.
“This is the best fan base in the country,” Bear said. “Me and Tiger, we we love being here. We’re so grateful for it and yeah, Cougar Nation’s the best.”
