Think there’s not much going on with BYU football during the coming month of June? Well, think again.

As is typically the case, a great deal of the recruiting that will ultimately compile into the 2027 signing class takes place in earnest during the month of June. This is the case not only for BYU, but for most college programs around the country. It’s the month where most teams hold their official team camps, where a plethora of recruits will be making their way to Provo and other locations where coaches will apply thorough evaluations and then work to commit players to the program.

And by glancing at the Cougar’s commitment list for 2027, Kalani Sitake and his staff have a lot of work to do from now until the initial signing period that takes place in December.

As it stands currently, BYU has just five commitments for the 2027 class, according to the 247 Sports Network. Last year saw BYU football sign 21 athletes from the high school ranks, which is a typical amount for most years, which makes the task ahead for BYU coaches a formidable one.

So who does BYU have committed currently and who are the top targets BYU will be hosting on campus this month or in the coming months?

2027 commitments

Jeremiah Williams, Defensive line, 6-foot-1, 315 pounds, Tustin, Calif.

Williams committed to Cougar coaches in late April and stands as BYU’s top commitment for the 2027 class according to the 247 Sports Network. Williams is rated as a high 3-star prospect and claimed offers from the likes of UCLA, Arizona State and Georgia among many others prior to accepting BYU’s scholarship offer. Williams still has visits lined up to other programs during the coming month, and will be on BYU’s campus on June 19, so how firm his commitment proves will certainly be worth noting throughout June.

Ryan Wooten, Cornerback, 6-foot-2, 175, Jersey City, NJ

Wooten was a bit of surprise when he committed to BYU early last month. He stands as the program’s top-rated cornerback recruit out of high school with his 88 overall grade from 247 and plethora of offers, which includes top programs such as Boston College, Florida and Florida State, among others. The departure of BYU cornerbacks coach Jenaro Gilford to Michigan in the offseason left a lot of questions with regards to BYU’s ability to attract top cornerback talent to the program. So the commitment of Wooten is a very good start on that front.

Maa’imoa Havili, Defensive line, 6-3, 290, West Valley City, UT

Havili has warranted a ton of recruiting attention lately, but opted to commit to what he termed as his ‘dream program’ to the media, which is BYU. Havili plays for Granger and recently received offers from just about every top program imaginable, including Michigan, Alabama, Oregon and many others. Once Havili hits the camp circuit it’s well-assumed that his current 3-star rating could very well be boosted up to 4 given his trajectory.

Ezra Sanelivi, Running back, 5-11, 205, Henderson, NV

A highly-productive runner from the Las Vegas area, Sanelivi claims offers from the likes of Arizona, Iowa, Arkansas and Cal, among others. LJ Martin will be gone after the 2026 season, making it of the utmost importance to beef up the running backs room, and recruits like Sanelivi are good starts.

Tytan DeJong, Athlete, 6-3, 215, Herriman, UT

Other than possessing perhaps the coolest name of any of the 2027 commitments, DeJong is also a very good and versatile athlete who could play anywhere from linebacker to receiver for the Cougars. He claims offers from the likes of Michigan, Stanford and Cal before opting to commit to the Cougars back in March.

Top 2027 Targets

Bode Sparrow, Receiver, 6-2, 195, Kaysville, UT

Sparrow looks to be the prize of the 2027 class and is rated a 4-star prospect by most recruiting services. The Davis High star holds offers from and has strong interest in Utah, Oregon and Oklahoma, along with BYU and should go a long way in boosting whatever program’s class he chooses to sign with.

Ian Ailoisio, Offensive line, 6-4, 280, Provo, UT

Ailoisio plays for Timpview and it looks to be a 3-horse race between BYU, Utah and Arizona for his services, at least currently. BYU needs to continue its recent success in recruiting top offensive linemen to the program, and Ailoisio’s high 3-star ranking would help tremendously in that regard.

Manase Brown, Defensive end, 6-7, 260, Draper, UT

Brown hails from Corner Canyon and BYU looks to be in relatively good shape in securing his commitment although it will have to beat out offers from such programs as Nebraska, Oregon and UCLA in the coming months.

Blake Wong, Receiver, 6-1, 170, Norco, Calif.

Wong is a 4-star prospect and holds offers from the likes of Ohio State, Utah, UCLA and Oregon, making his recruitment ultra competitive, to say the least. BYU is in good standing here and securing his commitment would provide one of the top recruiting stories this year.

Uhila Wolfgramm, Defensive end, 6-3, 245, Spanish Fork, UT

A standout for Maple Mountain, Wolfgramm is a 4-star prospect and is reportedly honing in on accepting offers from either BYU, UCLA or Oklahoma.
