Snow College announces commencement
EPHRAIM – Snow College Ephraim campus commencement will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, in the Horne Activity Center.
“This is an exciting time of year for all of us associated with Snow College. It is a time of celebration for the college, students, families, faculty and staff,” said President Gary Carlston about the 126th Commencement ceremony. He will officiate at both campuses.
The ceremony is to be highlighted by seasoned diplomat and former Governor of the state of Utah, Michael O. Leavitt. Distinguished alumni Robert M. Graham and Joyce Sorensen Graham, as well as Leavitt will receive honorary degrees for their continued support of Snow College.
The Ephraim commencement also includes two student speakers. Zachary Bown, Valedictorian speaker, graduating summa cum laude and continuing his degree at the University of Utah in the study of law; and Nathan Smith, the Salutatorian speaker, graduating summa cum laude in physics and moving on to study at Brigham Young University.
Commencements are free and open to the public. Campus parking lots may be used at no charge during commencement ceremonies. As campus parking is limited, visitors are encouraged to park on the surrounding streets.

“We express our thanks and congratulations to all who have helped our graduates succeed and welcome everyone who can attend to join us in the Commencement exercises on our Richfield and Ephraim campuses,” said President Carlston.
The class of 2015 is comprised of 918 graduates from 12 countries, 15 U.S. states and 29 Utah counties.
A total of 1,048 degrees and certificates will be conferred. There will be awarded 58 associates of applied science; 197 associates of arts; 19 associates of pre-engineering; 645 associates of science; 13 associates of science-business degrees; 43 associate of science-nursing; 17 bachelor of arts in commercial music; and 53 certificates of completion.
Of this year’s graduates, 359 are men and 559 are women. The average age of associate’s degree recipients is 23; the youngest undergraduate is 14, the oldest is 56. The average grade point average is 3.0.
The top undergraduate degrees awarded were in the following 10 departments, respectively: nursing, business, music, elementary education, engineering, art, communications, computer science, cosmetology/barbering and psychology.
