The Sanpete County Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, to receive comment on an amendment to the Sanpete County Land Use Ordinance relevant to Sanpete County building permits.

The public hearing will be at 2:35 p.m., at the Sanpete County Courthouse at 160 North Main, Manti, Utah.

The specific proposed amendment is as follows:

Sanpete County Building Official Tracy Christensen applied for an addition to the Land Use Ordinance Title 14 Chapter 90 Enforcement.

Specifically, to better inspect and evaluate building with the county, it is proposed that a building permit will be closed upon issuance of a certificate of occupancy. Otherwise, the building permit will expire by limitation and become null and void 180 days from issuance. The 180 day limitation begins anew each time a building inspector passes a required inspection of the building or work authorized by the permit. The change includes potential extensions for certain extenuating circumstances.
