LEHI – You aren’t supposed to get a polished performance from an offense that is playing the first game of the season in its inaugural season, but Thursday night the Skyridge Falcons looked like they’ve got things down.

Quarterback Cody Frampton threw five touchdown passes to help Skyridge beat Ridgeline 33-14.

“We’re brand new program so there’s no better way to start than to get a big win like this,” Frampton said. “Our receivers did a good job getting off the line and getting open and I’ve got to give credit to the line for giving me time to throw. I can’t describe it in words, it was just awesome. I’m super excited.”

Skyridge scored on its first possession of the game when Frampton hit Wyatt Parkinson in stride down the sideline for a 70-yard touchdown pass.

Ridgeline answered with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Payton Thomas to Kody Pope with 6:01 left in the first quarter.

Skyridge then took control of the game in the second quarter when Frampton threw two more touchdown passes. He went back to Parkinson for a 32-yard score and then mixed it up by finding Nathan Upham from 39 yards out that gave the Falcons a 19-7 lead at the half.

After its defense forced Ridgeline to punt on its first possession of the second half, Frampton went back to Parkinson on a swing pass and the speedy senior did it again. He burned Ridgeline’s defense for a 56-yard touchdown pass.

Ridgeline answered with an 80-yard touchdown pass from Thomas to Sam Weda on its next series, but that was as close as the game would get.

Frampton capped off a spectacular debut when he threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Alex Palmer with 5:16 left in the game.

“You don’t really know what the outcome is going to be but I expected them to compete,” said Skyridge coach Jon Lehman. “I feel like we have a lot of really good athletes so when we do the right things and play the right type of football good things happen.”
