Tickets to tour Timpanogos Cave this spring are now available

By Phillip Morgan - Daily Herald - | Apr 20, 2018

One of Utah County’s most popular draws for locals and tourists alike is getting ready to welcome visitors to its heart soon.

Tickets for the Timpanogos Cave National Monument are now on sale for upcoming season of tours.

The visitor center, cave and cave trail are scheduled to open for hiking and tours beginning on May 19, 2018.

To guarantee tour times, visitors can purchase tickets up to 30 days in advance on the National Park Services website.

Tickets are $8 for patrons 16 years and older; $6 for children 6 to 15; $4 for children 3 to 5; while children 2 years and younger are free. Customers may request changes at no cost or cancellations up to 24 hours before your tour. Customers who cancel within 24 hours and no-shows will forfeit the tour fee.

Cave tours are limited to 16 people per tour, and the tour schedule is subject to staff availability. The monument is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We take about 75,000 people through the cave every year,” said Jim Ireland, superintendent of Timpanogos Cave National Monument to the Daily Herald in 2016. “We figure another 20 to 30,000 hike the trail (up to the cave), and we don’t even try to count the picnic areas.”
