Athletes of the Week: Lone Peak’s Tasia Farmer and Skyridge’s Stone Mulitalo

Elite players have elite performances at elite moments and that is exactly what Tasia Farmer did in Saturday’s 6A state volleyball championship at the UCCU Center in Orem.
Farmer was a machine on offense, putting down 18 kills as the Knights swept past Region 4 rival Pleasant Grove to win their third straight state championship.
Farmer had an incredible year for Lone Peak all season long and is certain to garner numerous postseason awards for her accomplishments.

Things certainly weren’t going according to plan for the Skyridge football team in its 5A quarterfinal home matchup against Jordan. The Beetdiggers had surged out to a 21-0 lead and although the Falcons got in the end zone to narrow the gap, they still needed a big momentum play.
Stone Mulitalo provided that on the next Jordan drive as he won the race to a Beetdigger fumble, then rumbled 38 yards to make it a one-score game.
Skyridge rode the momentum to score 51 more points while Mulitalo’s defense only let Jordan put 13 points on the board the rest of the way as the Falcons earned a return trip to Rice-Eccles Stadium for the 4A state semifinals this Friday.
