BYU coach Jeff Judkins released the 2021-22 women’s basketball schedule on Tuesday. The nonconference slate includes three games against Pac-12 opponents as well as matchups with the ACC, Big Ten and Big 12.

The season gets warmed up with an exhibition contest at home against Westminster on Nov. 4 before opening night at the Marriott Center with Lipscomb on Nov. 9.

Four consecutive home games follow with Fresno State (Nov. 13), Arizona State (Nov. 17), Boise State (Nov. 20) and Utah State (Nov. 23). Fresno State went 17-11 during the 2020-21 season including a 12-6 mark in the Mountain West Conference to finish in the upper half of the MW standings.

BYU will then travel to St. Petersburg, Florida, for the St. Pete Showcase. The Cougars will take on Florida State on Nov. 25 and then face either West Virginia or Purdue at the tournament. Florida State and West Virginia were both NCAA tournament teams in 2020-21.

Starting off the month of December, BYU will play in-state rival Utah on the road Dec. 4 and then head to Oklahoma on Dec. 10.

The Cougars return home to face NCAA tournament team Washington State on Dec. 18 and then are back on the road to finish the non-conference schedule at Montana State on Dec. 21. The Bobcats finished 17-7 last season.

BYU begins its West Coast Conference schedule on Dec. 30.

This will be one of Judkins’ most experienced teams with all five starters returning from last season in seniors Paisley Harding, Sara Hamson and Maria Albiero and sophomores Shaylee Gonzales and Lauren Gustin. The Cougars finished 19-6, upset Rutgers in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament and very nearly beat Arizona in the second round. The Wildcats went on to reach the NCAA title game.
