Texas has a record of 941-390-33 (.702), ranked fourth and seventh in those categories all-time in college football.
Two
Texas’ live mascot is a 1,800 pound Longhorn named Bevo XV, which gave rise to the school’s hand symbol and saying, “Hook ’em Horns.” His name came from the slang term for a steer that is destined to become food, beeve, and in a common practice for the 00’s and 10’s, an “O” was added at the end.

Texas claims national championships in 1963, 1969, 1970 and 2005, with 108 winning seasons in 122 years, 24 seasons with 10 or more wins and nine undefeated seasons.

In 2012, the program was valued by the Wall Street Journal at $805 million, more than the calculated value of several NFL teams at the time.

Retired numbers at Texas include 10 (QB Vince Young), 12 (QB Colt McCoy), 20 (RB Earl Campbell), 22 (QB Bobby Layne), 34 (RB Ricky Williams) and 60 (LB Tommy Nobis).
