Valley Top 5: Lehi boys basketball passes first Region 3 test

Boys Basketball
1. Lehi (13-2)
Cooper Lewis erupted for 47 points on six 3-pointers in win vs. AF.
2. Timpview (9-4)
T-Birds are tough in close games this season.
3. Provo (10-5)
Two wins last week keeps Bulldogs tied at top of Region 8.
4. Pleasant Grove (10-4)
Vikings try to get back on track this week against AF and Westlake.
5. Mountain View (10-5)
Bruins will best tested this week with game vs. Layton Christian.

Girls Basketball
1. Timpview (11-3)
The Thunderbirds got a wake-up call with their loss at Salem Hills.
2. Wasatch (11-3)
The Wasps will be looking for a few more points when Timpview makes the trip to Heber later in the season.
3. Maple Mountain (11-3)
What did the Golden Eagles learn from the home loss to Cedar Valley?
4. Westlake (10-4)
The Thunder move into the rankings with their impressive win over Skyridge.
5. Lone Peak (6-6)
The Knights hammered Pleasant Grove to send a message that they are rounding into form.

Boys Wrestling
1. Westlake
Thunder place fifth at Rockwell Rumble while its JV team won the Battle at the Mine.
2. Pleasant Grove
Vikings actually edged Westlake by four points at the Rockwell Rumble.
3. Spanish Fork
Karson Shelley wins an exciting bout to claim a Rockwell Rumble title at 120 pounds.
4. Payson
Lions fighting injuries and illness but JV team tops the competition in the JV Rumble.
5. Wasatch
Wasps finish just outside the top at the Rockwell Rumble.

Girls Wrestling
1. Salem Hills
Skyhawks didn’t compete at the Rockwell Rumble but still held on to the top spot.
2. Cedar Valley
Aviators placed fourth out of 55 teams at the Rockwell Rumble.
3. Springville
Emeri Mortimer and Hotai Valeti won titles at the Rockwell Rumble.
4. Westlake
Celeste Detoles and Keilikki Rau Narick climbed to the top of the podium at the Rockwell Rumble.
5. Wasatch
Wasps are improving and their depth makes them a 5A title threat.
