The Big 12 Conference announced that Utah Valley’s Terrell Barraclough has been named this week’s Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for his performance in duals against West Virginia and Air Force. He becomes the first Wolverine to win two in the same year since Tanner Orndorff did it back in 2018-2019.

It’s the second time a Top 5 win has earned the UVU redshirt senior the award; he took home the year’s first award after defeating Stanford’s No. 3 Hunter Garvin by decision in November. He finished the opening weekend with a 5-0 record, including winning the 165 pound weight class at the Menlo Open.

Barraclough finished 2-0 last week, including a thrilling victory at Layton High School on Thursday night when he knocked off No. 3 Peyton Hall of West Virginia with a last second takedown to prevent the match from going to overtime. The win was his fifth over a Top 5 opponent and his tenth ranked win of the season.

Against Air Force, Barraclough earned his ninth major decision over the season over Logan Fowler (19-5). This season, he is 22-1 and a perfect 13-0 in dual action and has scored 48 dual points for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines will close out the regular season on Friday, Feb. 14, against (RV) Northern Colorado inside Lockhart Arena at 7:00 p.m. MT. UVU will then prepare for the upcoming Big 12 Championships, which will be held on March 8-9 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

BYU’s Woodall honored for video excellence

The Collegiate Sports Video Association named Brayden Woodall, director of football video and technology at BYU, the 2024-2025 Big 12 Conference Video Coordinator of the Year.

Woodall was selected by his peers in the Big 12 to receive the Conference Video Coordinator of the Year honor.  He is now a finalist for the prestigious Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual CSVA banquet on May 21 in Houston, Texas.

The Bob Matey award is presented to the video coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary video coordinator from Texas A&M.

Woodall is in his sixth year as BYU’s director of football video and technology on the support staff of head coach Kalani Sitake. Woodall’s responsibilities include managing technology for the football program and implementing and overseeing the various coaches video needs of the program, including filming practices and games for performance scouting purposes and the exchange of NCAA and NFL game film.

This is the second time Woodall has won coordinator of the year, previously earning the honor for independent football programs for the 2021-2022 season. Brayden has been a member of CSVA since 2019.

Prior to his current role at BYU, Woodall served as the assistant video coordinator for the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football from 2018-2019. He previously served as a student video manager for the BYU football team from 2012-2018, including the role of head student manager from 2014-2018.

Before entering college, Woodall learned German and volunteered as a full-time missionary in Germany and Austria for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2009-2011.

Originally from Roy, Utah, Woodall earned a bachelor’s degree in Family Life from BYU in 2018. He met his wife Mikaela at BYU and they were married in April of 2013. They currently live in Provo, Utah.
