BYU’s non-conference schedule will consist of four home games and four away contests. The Cougars will face two opponents who finished the 2025 season ranked in the Top 25. BYU will open its non-conference schedule with a pair of road matches at No. 17 UCLA (Aug. 12) and No. 15 Wisconsin (Aug. 19) before hosting two games at South Field.

The Cougars will welcome USC (Aug. 22) and Minnesota (Aug. 27) to Provo before facing in-state opponent Utah Valley up the road in Orem on Monday, Aug. 31. The final two home matches against non-conference opponents will be against Colorado State (Sept. 3) and Oklahoma (Sept. 5). BYU will close its non-conference slate up in Logan against Utah State on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The Cougars will open their Big 12 schedule on the road at Arizona on Friday, Sept. 18. BYU will then host three home games against UCF (Sept. 24), TCU (Sept. 28) and Kansas State (Oct. 2) before playing two road games at West Virginia (Oct. 8) and Cincinnati (Oct. 12).

BYU will end its 2026 Big 12 slate on South Field, hosting rival Utah (Oct. 30) and Arizona State (Nov. 5).

Following the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the eight-team single-elimination Big 12 Soccer Tournament will run from Monday, Nov. 9, through Saturday, Nov. 14. The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced later in November.

BYU baseball shuts out Lamar

BEAUMONT, Texas — BYU baseball defeated Lamar 4-0 Monday night in a non-conference game at Schroeder Park in Beaumont, Texas. Cougar pitchers Austin Park, Luke Sterner and Ethan Zufall combined for the first shutout of the 2026 season, holding the Cardinals to just five hits while striking out seven in the win.

BYU’ last shutout was a 2-0 victory against Arizona State in the Big 12 Tournament on May 21, 2025.

The Cougars (19-16, 8-7) scored four runs on nine hits, including six doubles. Meanwhile, Lamar (19-18, 11-7) had five hits and stranded five runners.

“Our pitching was very good again tonight,” said BYU head baseball coach Trent Pratt. “It was great to see our guys throw strikes and challenge their hitters. Offensively we did what we needed to do to win. We hit the ball hard and took advantage of extra-base hits to drive in runs.”

Luke Anderson was 3 of 5 with two doubles and two runs scored and Easton Jones also doubled twice, driving in a pair of runs.

After going 6-2 on its current road trip, BYU heads home for a three-game conference series with No. 23 ranked ASU, April 16-18 at Miller Park. The Sun Devils are 9-6 in Big 12 play, just one game ahead of the Cougars in the conference race. All three games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and on the BYU Radio app, BYUradio.org, SiriusXM 143 and 107.9 FM in Utah County.

UVU women’s hoops signs Gentry

Utah Valley head coach Dan Nielson has announced the addition of forward Elizabeth Gentry to the 2026-27 roster. Gentry joins the Wolverines after spending her first two seasons at Creighton.

“Elizabeth is a perfect fit for us on and off the court,” Nielson said. “Her ability to run the floor and score inside and out on offense will make an immediate impact this season. Defensively, she can guard multiple positions, making her a valuable defender. We are ecstatic that she chose to join our UVU family.”

Gentry played in 49 career games for the Bluejays, including 19 as a true freshman, when Creighton advanced to the NCAA Tournament following a 26-7 season. As a sophomore, the Littleton, Colorado, native appeared in 30 games with 13 starts, averaging 4.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.
