Who do the players think is the biggest hitter on the team? The best dancer? The funniest?

That’s how “20 Questions” was born.

Today, media are allowed to watch maybe 20 minutes at the end of practice a couple of times a week. On the first day of fall camp a few days ago, it was more like 12 minutes and features the third and fourth-string offense.

I mean, I didn’t really learn that much.

Hopefully, this little dive into the minds of players opens things up a bit.

Here’s how it works: We ask an offensive players 20 questions, then we ask a defensive player the same questions. I grabbed senior quarterback Treyson Bourguet as he came off the field after practice. The backup guy knows everything, right? Then I found senior defensive end Bodie Schoonover after his ice bath. I reached out to shake his hand before thinking about it and ended up with a very wet palm.

Here we go.

1. Who’s the biggest hitter on the team? (The Aaron Francisco Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “I’d have to go with (Sr. LB) Isaiah Glasker.”

Me: “Have you been hit by him? You wear a green jersey in practice.”

Bourguet: “No, but I’ve seen it first hand. When he gets his helmet on somebody, that’s a big hit.”

Bodie Schoonover: “Ooh, that’s tough because we just started camp, but I would say probably (Sr. LB) Cade Uluave.”

2. Who’s the fastest guy on the team? (The Tyler Anderson Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “Has to be Shmev (Sr. CB) Johnson.”

Me: “Is there anybody close?”

Bourguet: “I mean, I’m right there with him. But Shmev’s got it.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I think that would be Shmev, Evan Johnson. I think Legend (freshman receiver Legend Glasker) is getting pretty close, but Shmev’s still got it.”

3. Who’s the craziest guy on the team, just up for anything? (The Justin Luettgerodt Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “I’d say (Sr. WR) Tiger Bachmeier. Absolutely, yeah.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I will say (Sr. DT) Keanu Tanuvasa.”

4. Who’s the most talented in something other than football?

Treyson Bourguet: “Honestly, (Fr. QB) Enoch Watson is really talented in everything. It’s tough to put something in front of Enoch that he doesn’t know how to do. Golf, baseball, basketball, football, you name it.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I’ll go with (So. QB) Bear Bachmeier. He’s a good singer and plays guitar.”

5. Who’s the smartest guy on the team? (The Matt Bauman Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “Again, probably Tiger Bachmeier. Stanford kid.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I’m going to go with (Sr. K) Matthias Dunn. I think he’s pretty smart.”

6. Who’s the smoothest with the ladies?

Treyson Bourguet: “Let’s go with (Sr. RB) LJ Martin.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I’m going to say (So. DE) Kini Fonohema. He’s a lady killer and he’s from Springville.”

7. Who THINKS he’s the smoothest with the ladies but really has no game?

Treyson Bourguet: “LJ Martin. Same guy.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I would say Zay (Isaiah) Glasker but he got engaged, so I guess he’s got a little bit of game.”

8. Who does the best coach impression?

Treyson Bourguet: “Let’s go with (Sr. OL) Bruce Mitchell. He does offensive line coach TJ Woods. Usually not in a very nice voice.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I would say (Sr. OL) Kyle Sfarcioc. I don’t even know if he’s good at it, but I think Kyle has some good impressions in him.”

9. Who’s the biggest trash talker?

Treyson Bourguet: “Probably (Jr. CB) Trey Alexander.”

Bodie Schoonover: “That would definitely be Zay Glasker.”

10. Who’s the quietest guy on the team?

Treyson Bourguet: “LJ Martin. He’s opened up a bit but that’s my guy. He’s pretty quiet.”

Bodie Schoonover: “The quietest would be (Fr. OL) Tui Pututau.”

11. Who’s the best dancer? (The Ben “Mongoose” Criddle Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “I’ll give that to (So. WR) Kyler Casper. He can wiggle.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I would say ‘P. Wavy.’ That’s (Sr. RB) Preston Rex. P. Wavy is a good dancer.”

12. Who’s the worst dancer?

Treyson Bourguet: “That would be (Sr. DB) Raider Damuni.”

Bodie Schoonover: “That’s tough. I would have to say Matthias Dunn. He’s smart and nerdy.”

13. Who’s the funniest guy on the team?

Treyson Bourguet: “Probably Raider Damuni. Nobody’s safe from getting trolled by him. He trolls everybody.”

Bodie Schoonover: “That would have to be (Sr. DT) Justin Kirkland. He’s just naturally really funny.”

14. We used to ask about who drove the ugliest car, but with NIL, we should ask who’s got the best ride, right?

Treyson Bourguet: “Got to give that to LJ Martin. He’s got a Mercedes AMG GLE 63.”

Bodie Schoonover: “Zay has a nice ride, but (Fr. LB) Pierson Watson just got a really nice truck.”

15. Who’s the best video game player?

Treyson Bourguet: “Not LJ Martin. I’m way better than he is at FIFA and 2K.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I think it’s (Jr. DT) Vili Po’uha. I’m not a big gamer, but I think Vili is good”

Me: “He just got married so he probably doesn’t have much time to play video games.”

Schoonover: “I think he plays video games with his wife (the former Lulu Uluave, a BYU volleyball player). That’s a winner, right there.”

16. Who’s the best-dressed player on the team?

Treyson Bourguet: “That would be my guy Bear Bachmeier.”

Bodie Schoonover: “That would be (Jr. WR) Jo Jo Phillips. He dresses really nice.”

17. Who’s the best-looking guy on the team? (The Matt Berry Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “Let’s got with Kyle Sfacioc.

Me: “An offensive lineman? That’s probably a first for 20 Questions.”

Bourguet: “Have you seen his eyes? Ooh, you’ll lose yourself in his eyes.”

Bodie Schoonover: “Wow, that’s a good one. Let’s say (Jr. LB) Maika Kaufusi. He’s a good-looking dude.”

18. Who’s got the messiest locker?

Treyson Bourguet: “I’ve already said his name a lot, but it’s LJ Martin.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I don’t even know if his locker is messy, but I think it would be Kini Fonohema. Just because.”

19. Who’s the best basketball player on the team?

Treyson Bourguet: “Probably Enoch Watson or Jo Jo Phillips. Oh, wait, it’s (Fr. DB) Cannon DeVries. Cannon’s pretty good. That’s Damian Lillard right there.”

Bodie Schoonover: “Probably Jo Jo Phillips.”

20. Who’s got the best chance to be a multi-millionaire in something other than football in ten years? (The Taysom Hill Award)

Treyson Bourguet: “Definitely Tiger Bachmeier.”

Bodie Schoonover: “I’m going to say (Fr. OL) Jeff Lewis. He’s always coming in with the polos on, nice pants and nice shoes. I think it’s going to be him.”
