BYU's Parker Kingston scored on a 75-yard touchdown reception vs ArizonaBYU football senior wide receiver Parker Kingston was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape, a first-degree felony, by the Washington County Attorney’s Office for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in 2025.
Kingston is being held without bail in the Washington County Jail and a court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The Washington County Attorney’s Office said in a news release that an investigation began last year after a 20-year-old woman reported to the St. George police that she had been sexually assaulted by Kingston on Feb. 23, 2025.
The news release said detectives with the St. George Police Department gathered digital and forensic evidence and conducted interviews with the parties involved and other witnesses, which they presented to the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
BYU released a statement regarding the arrest Wednesday: “BYU became aware today of the arrest of Parker Kingston. The university takes any allegation very seriously, and will cooperate with law enforcement. Due to federal and university privacy laws and practices for students, the university will not be able to provide additional comments.”
In an affidavit of probable cause that was unsealed Thursday, the woman told police she had told Kingston multiple times via online communication she did not want to have sex with him and that he should not meet with her if that was his intention.
“(The woman) disclosed that she set clear boundaries with Kingston prior to their meetup,” the affidavit said.
The affidavit alleges Kingston arrived at the woman’s house in the early morning hours of Feb. 23. They reportedly watched a movie together, and began to engage in some sexual activity, but did not have intercourse. According to the affidavit, Kingston started to fall asleep, so the woman left the room to get ready for bed, and when she returned, Kingston initiated sexual activity again.
Police said the woman claims she told Kingston several times to stop and tried to push him off of her. Police reported that the woman said Kingston raped her.
In an interview with Kingston, police said he claimed that all sexual activity was consensual.
“Based on communications obtained from Kingston’s cell phone after the incident, it can be inferred that he went to her apartment with the intention of having sexual intercourse,” the affidavit said.
Kingston had previously announced he was returning to play for the Cougars in 2026 in his senior year. Last season, Kingston was the team’s leading receiver and punt returner. He is originally from Layton and played football for Roy High School. According to his bio on the BYU team page online, Kingston is a business major.
