BYU's Sydney Benally (2) looks to pass against Kansas in the semifinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kan. on Monday, March 30, 2026.

BYU women’s basketball will play a home-and-home series against New Mexico over the next two seasons, the programs announced on Monday.

The Cougars will host the Lobos at the Marriott Center on Nov. 14, 2026, with the return game at The Pit – Powered by Nusenda to be played during the 2027-28 season, with the date still to be determined.

BYU and New Mexico last met on March 1, 2011, as members of the Mountain West Conference, with the Cougars earning a 65-49 win over the Lobos at The Pit. The last meeting in Provo came on Jan. 29, 2011, as the home team handed UNM a 76-64 defeat.

The Cougars return seven players who contributed 57.1 of their 70.6 points per game from the 2025-26 season. BYU went 26-12 under first-year head coach Lee Cummard and made a run to the WBIT Championship game in 2025-26.

The rest of BYU’s 2026-27 nonconference schedule will be announced at a later date.
