Here’s the Daily Herald’s look at who are currently the top five Utah Valley teams in high school football, girls soccer and volleyball (as of Oct. 11):

FOOTBALL

1. Skyridge (8-1, 3-1, Region 4)

Falcons with fifth shutout of season last week (31-0 vs. Pleasant Grove).

2. Lone Peak (5-2, 3-1 Region 4)

Knights rise up to end Corner Canyon’s 48-game winning streak.

3. Springville (8-1, 4-1 Region 8)

Seth Rigtrup (140 yards rushing) and Tevita Valeti (102) overpower Salem Hills.

4. Timpview (7-2, 4-0 Region 7)

Liu Aumavae (22 TDs, 259 yards per game) is one of state’s most underrated QBs.

5. Timpanogos (8-1, 5-1 Region 7)

T-Wolves looking to tie school record for wins (9) this week vs. Stansbury.

GIRLS SOCCER

1. Timpanogos (14-1, 11-1)

The No. 4-seeded Timberwolves better not look ahead to possibly facing No. 5-seed Bountiful and overlook No. 20-seed Viewmont.

2. Cedar Valley (16-0, 12-0)

How will the Aviators do in their first 5A playoff test?

3. Lone Peak (13-2, 8-2)

The Knights got a tough draw with rival American Fork coming to town in the second round.

4. Lehi (12-3, 9-3)

The No. 6-seeded Pioneers face a dangerous opponent in No. 11-seed Woods Cross, although a possible quarterfinal game against Cedar Valley would be fun.

5. Maple Mountain (14-4, 9-1)

The No. 9-seeded Golden Eagles playing at No. 8-seed Alta might be one of the best games of the 5A second round.

VOLLEYBALL

1. Lone Peak (20-4, 6-0 Region 4)

11 straight wins for Knights send them to the top.

2. Mountain View (20-6, 7-1 Region 7)

Difficult schedule will pay off for Bruins come tournament time.

3. Timpview (19-6, 8-1 Region 7)

T-Birds finish regular season with Timpanogos and Lehi at home.

4. Maple Mountain (21-4, 7-1 Region 9)

Libero Jettlee Ione gets to just about every ball on the court.

5. Skyridge (18-6, 4-2 Region 4)

Falcons one most improved teams in 6A after 13-17 season last year.
