Valley Top 5: Top teams having to show resiliency

Here’s the Daily Herald’s look at who are currently the top five Utah Valley teams in high school football, girls soccer and volleyball:
FOOTBALL
1. Skyridge (6-1, 1-1, Region 4)
Corner Canyon hit big plays against Skyridge to stay undefeated.
2. Lone Peak (4-1, 2-0 Region 4)
Knights held off American Fork, Skyridge up next.
3. Springville (6-1, 2-1 Region 8)
Red Devils had 23 fourth quarter points in impressive win at Wasatch.
4. Timpview (5-2, 2-0 Region 7)
T-Birds have scored 124 points in past two games.
5. American Fork (4-2, 0-2 Region 4)
Cavemen have lost two in a row after 4-0 start.
GIRLS SOCCER
1. Lehi (12-1, 9-1)
The Pioneers got the golden goal they needed to knock off Timpanogos in a playoff-caliber atmosphere.
2. Timpanogos (12-1, 9-1)
The Timberwolves fell in OT at Lehi for their first loss; how will they respond?
3. Cedar Valley (14-0, 10-0)
Aviator senior Presley Devey is in the Top 10 in goals in a season (43) and in a career (124) and she is still moving up.
4. Lone Peak (12-2, 7-2)
The Knights have to be more consistent if they are going to win the 6A title.
5. Skyridge (10-4, 7-2)
The Falcons got blasted by American Fork but are still in a good position.
VOLLEYBALL
1, Mountain View (14-2, 6-0 Region 7)
Senior Lucy Perez with 239 kills, hitting .314 for the Bruins.
2. Timpview (11-5, 4-1 Region 7)
T-Birds get another shot at Mountain View on Thursday, Bruins took first one.
3. Lone Peak (12-4, 4-0, Region 4)
Utah commit K.J. Burgess hitting .344 for the Knights,
4. Pleasant Grove (11-5, 4-0, Region 4)
Tuesday’s showdown with Lone Peak a big one.
5. Salem Hills (7-2, 5-0 Region 9)
Six straight wins for Skyhawks, five by sweep.
