Here are the best girls basketball players in Utah Valley during the 2021-22 season:
Player of the Year: Kailey Woolston, Jr. G, Lone Peak
One of the most versatile players in the state who was a dynamic scorer (19.7 points per game, 64 made 3-pointers), a key rebounder and passer (6.1 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game), and a defender who would take on anyone (1.5 steals per game) as she led the Knights to an undefeated season.
Offensive MVP: Jamisyn Heaton, Sr. F, Lehi
Focal point on offense for the 5A runner-up Pioneers who could score inside or outside as well as get to the rim, finishing with 16.6 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, and 43 made 3-pointers.
Defensive MVP: Ellie Esplin, Jr. G, Springville
Pesky defensive presence who averaged 2.6 steals per game (to go with 13.1 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game) and spearheaded the physical, disruptive onslaught that took opponents out of rhythm and propelled the Red Devils to the 5A title.
Coach of the Year: Nancy Warner, Lone Peak
Took a relatively Knight young team and guided it to play to its strengths, resulting in an undefeated season and a win over nationally ranked Fremont in a 6A championship double-overtime classic. Warner has now won state titles at both Springville and Lone Peak.

Tenacious defender and explosive scorer who did some of everything for the Falcons (12.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.7 spg).
Brooklyn Fely, Jr. G, Pleasant Grove
Athletic presence at both ends of the floor who was an excellent scorer (13.4 ppg), rebounder ( 8.6 rpg), and defender (2.3 spg).
Makeila Ika, Jr. G, Lone Peak
Energetic guard with a flair for the dramatic who was a leader on the (10.7 ppg, 3 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.9 spg, 32 made 3-pointers) and hit the game-winning shot in the 6A title game.
Sheridan Liggett, Sr. G, Maple Mountain
Relentless attacker who could put up points in bunches (19.3 ppg) while also making plays for others (6 rpg, 3.3 apg, 1.9 spg).
Jill Lungren, Sr. F, Westlake
Gifted shooter who could stretch opposing defenses (11.8 ppg, 52 made 3-pointers) and used her length to affect shots.
Teuila Nawahine, Sr. G, Lone Peak
Steady, consistent presences for the Knights who did a little of everything (7.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.6 spg) to help her team succeed.
Shawnee Nordstrom, So. G, Lone Peak
Fearless competitor who could shoot (9.5 ppg, 27 made 3-pointers) and attack, but also played intense defense (3.8 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.1 spg).
Brooke Pennington, Sr. G, Springville
Deadly shooter (11.9 ppg) who was also committed to giving her best to the team in all areas of her game (4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.4 spg).
Kayla Porray, Jr. G, Springville
Talented athlete who was needed to score (10.1 ppg) but often frustrated taller opponents inside on defense (2.5 rpg, 2.9 apg).
Macie Wall, Sr. F, Lehi
Impressive athlete who stepped up in many areas whenever her team needed her (12.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2 spg, 15 made 3-pointers).
