Here are the top girls soccer players in the Utah Valley area in 2022:
Player of the Year: Naia Tanuvasa, Jr. MF, Lone Peak
Tanuvasa was a reliable, consistent performer who set the tone for the Knights through her steadying presence and ability to facilitate. Not only did she regularly win key balls in the air for Lone Peak but she also was central in getting the Knights organized both on defense and when moving the ball forward into the attack. Her quiet leadership and relentless drive were vital for the Knights throughout the year.
Co-Offensive MVPs: Kate Denney, So. MF/F, Lone Peak and Bella Devey, So. MF, Lone Peak
The dynamic Knight scoring tandem proved to be incredibly difficult to stop throughout the 2022 season as the two athletes combined for 27 goals and 25 assists. Devey had one more goal (14 goals, 12 assists) while Denney set up one more goal (13 goals, 13 assists).
Midfielder MVP: Bailey McArthur, Sr. MF, Cedar Valley
McArthur was an Incredible senior leader who set the tone for the Aviators throughout a historic season. Her willingness to do whatever was needed, whether that was shadow the other team’s best player or to move up to set up the attack (12 goals, seven assists), provided the spark that got Cedar Valley to its first 5A semifinals.
Defensive MVP: Emily Morrill, Sr. D, Skyridge
Morril was a vital backline organizer and presence who frequently kept the Falcons in games by making big plays. She helped Skyridge rally from some early disappointments and play their best soccer at the end of the season, making it all the way to the 6A semifinals.
Keeper of the Year: Emma McIff, Jr. GK, Timpanogos

It took time for the Timberwolf defense to gel this fall and McIff frequently had to come up with acrobatic stops to keep her team in games. She finished with five shutouts and came up big in the shootout win over East in the 5A quarterfinals.
Coach of the Year: Shantel Jolley, Lone Peak
The Knights lost some gifted players from the 2021 team but didn’t miss a beat in 2022. Jolley found ways to get the best from her athletes, resulting in an 18-game winning streak that didn’t end until the 6A semifinals. That included playing some young players at key positions but under Jolley’s guidance Lone Peak always seemed to find ways to get the job done.

Dangerous finisher (15 goals scored, 6 assists) who was the driving offensive force for the T’wolves.

Nightmare matchup up top who made gashed opposing defenses, tallying 13 goals and 8 assists.

Rock-solid defender who kept the Knight backline organized and limited opponent opportunities.

Nixan Jackson, Sr. F, Maple Mountain
Impressive attacker who made her own opening, notching 17 goals and 6 assists for the Golden Eagles.
Chelsie Johnson, So. D, American Fork
Excellent stopper who had good field sense and could effectively move forward to support the Caveman attack.
Nicole Lewis, Sr. F/MF, American Fork
Dazzling scorer who could get the job done herself (11 goals scored) or create for others (nine assists).
Addy Meldrum, Jr. D, Lone Peak
Savvy athlete who understood keeping defensive shape and providing the foundation for the Knight attack.
Catherine Miller, Sr. F, Maeser
Amazing scorer who had little trouble against 2A defenses, finishing No. 1 in the state with 50 goals.
Sophia Neves, Jr. F/MF, Springville
Aggressive attacker who was always probing for openings for the Red Devils (15 goals scored, 7 assists).
Hayley Ogden, Sr. GK, Lehi
Brilliant keeper who could be counted on to make a couple of amazing stops every game (110 saves, seven shutouts).

Versatile athlete who was willing to take on opposing defenders (12 goals scored) or stop opposing attackers.

Excellent playmaker who was huge in keeping the Timberwolf offense on track (13 assists, 6 goals).
