Best of the Best: 2022 All-Valley Softball Team
Here are the top softball players in the Utah Valley area in 2022:
Player of the Year: Avery Sapp, Jr. P, Spanish Fork
Dominating hurler who specialized in hitting her spots and forcing batter to catch up. She finished with a 0.94 ERA (second in the state) and 258 strikeouts while hitting .534 with 11 home runs, 12 doubles and 38 RBI.
Pitcher MVP: Heather Berrett, Sr. P/1B, Skyridge
Gifted athlete who played a huge role as the Falcons went undefeated in Region 4 and reached the 6A semifinals, finishing with a 2.84 ERA and 100 strikeouts as well as a batting average of .389.
Offensive MVP: Peyton Hall, Jr. P/INF, Spanish Fork
Fantastic hitter who had a knack for coming up big when her team needed a big hit, tallying a batting average of .475 and 20 home runs with 60 RBI while also consistently making plays in the infield.
Defensive MVP: Maci Wall, Sr. SS, Lehi
Impressive athlete who showed range and determination when vacuuming up grounders or chasing down fly balls, also finishing with a batting average of .444, nine home runs, 45 RBI, 11 doubles and nine home runs.
Coach of the Year: Tim Kennedy, Lehi
Savvy game manager who always tests his team early and works to get the payoff when it counts, which was what happened in 2022 as he led the Pioneers on a great run to the 5A state title game.

Dangerous batter who hit .581 with 12 home runs, 11 doubles, 60 RBI while also finishing with a 2.91 ERA and 69 strikeouts in the circle.
Tatum Hall, So. INF, Spanish Fork
Consistent performer who always seemed to be getting on base, notching a batting average of .647 with 26 RBI, 11 doubles and four home runs.
Ryann Haveron, So. P, Springville
Versatile athlete who could change the game from the circle (3.92 ERA, 90 strikeouts) or with her stick (batting average of .432, 27 RBI, six home runs).
Jamisyn Heaton, Sr. 1B/3B, Lehi
Lethal batter who had another impressive year swinging the bat as she hit .474 with nine home runs and 17 doubles with 46 RBI.
Emily Hicken, Sr. P, Timpanogos
Workhorse performer who kept batters guessing (132 strikeouts, 6.17 ERA) while also being a strong hitter (batting average of .382 with 23 RBI).
Grace Humes, Sr. P, Lehi
Strong pitcher who came in and did her job well, ending up with a 3.53 ERA and 125 strikeouts, as well as a batting average of .353 with 11 RBI.
Emma Liddiard, Jr. SS, Springville
Vital defender in the middle of the infield who also was a top hitter (batting average of .460, 37 RBI, 11 doubles).
Ashlyn Losee, Sr. C, Spanish Fork
Brilliant manager behind the plate who also had a batting average of .394 and hit nine doubles with 24 RBI.

Clutch performer who had a knack for making big plays (11 doubles, five home runs, two triples and 29 RBI).
Kiley Mitchell, Sr. INF, Spanish Fork
Talented all-around player who hit .357 with four home runs and three doubles while driving in 19 runs.
Ryan Pead, Fr. SS, Westlake
Explosive youngster who never let the stage intimidate her, ending up with a batting average of .652 with 43 RBI, 12 doubles and 10 triples.
Elliott Plewe, Jr. P/OF, Skyridge
Gifted performer who was great in the batter’s box (batting average of .451, 10 home runs, 36 RBI, eight doubles) as well as pitching (4.89 ERA, 65 strikeouts_.
Andrea Sweat, Sr. P/3B, Wasatch
Excellent athlete who finished with a batting average of .380 with 37 RBI, seven home runs and four doubles, and a 4.40 ERA (148 strikeouts).
Hadlee Walker, Sr. C/OF, Pleasant Grove
Fantastic hitter who always seemed to be bringing in runs with a batting average of .589, 12 home runs and 58 RBI.
