Here are the top girls basketball players in the Utah Valley area in 2023-24:

Player of the Year: Naia Tanuvasa, Sr. G, Lone Peak

Dedicated, talented athlete who raised her game to be what her team needed her to be, including nearly doubling her scoring (14.5 points per game), knocking down shot (33 made 3-pointers) and making plays all over the court (5.4 rebounds per game, 3.2 assists per game, 3 steals per game).

Offensive MVP: Shawnee Nordstrom, Sr. G, Lone Peak

Dynamic shooter who could had impressive range but who could also get to the rim and finish or set up teammates for open looks (14.9 points per game, 40 made 3-pointers, 3.3 assists per game),

Defensive MVP: Ashley Garner, Sr. C, Wasatch

Imposing interior presence who patrolled the paint and intimidated opposing shooters, then went hard to the glass (10.7 rebounds per game) while also making big plays at the offensive end (17.6 points per game).

Coach of the Year: Nancy Warner, Lone Peak

After two years of dominance, the Knights dealt with some new struggles in 2023-24 including early injuries and some tough losses. Warner kept her team focused and unfazed, finding a rhythm that carried it to a third-straight 6A state championship.

All-Valley first team

Lina Ballin, Jr. G, Timpview

Big-time player who spearheaded the Thundebird efforts at both ends of the court and came up big in key moments (13.2 points per game, 30 made 3-pointers, 5 assists per game, 3.6 steals per game).

Sarah Bartholomew, Sr. C, Lone Peak

Skilled post player who was rarely out of position on either end of the court as she affected shots, grabbed rebounds and scored efficiently inside (11.2 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game).

Peyton Behnke, Jr. G, Wasatch

Aggressive athlete who found ways to get the ball in the hoop (14.3 points per game) or get the ball back for her team (3.6 rebounds per game, 2.2 steals per game).

Cambrie Blackham, Sr. G, Skyridge

Important leader and competitor who gave the Falcons everything she had (12.4 points per game, 2.3 steals per game, 1.8 assists per game) despite being limited for much of the year by a tough injury.

Jaycee Carlson, So. G, Mountain View

Rising star who was everywhere for the Bruins as she stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 13.6 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, 3.9 steals per game, and 3 assists per game.

Rayli Galea’i, Sr. F/C, Timpview

Tough, powerful inside presence who battled for every inch inside on her way to 10 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game for the Thunderbirds.

Oaklie Jackman, Sr. F, Payson

Determined competitor who changed the game inside for the Lions as both an offensive threat and a defensive stopper (12.3 points per game, 8.3 rebounds per game, 1.7 blocks per game).

Chloe Jensen, Sr. G, Westlake

Fantastic scorer who was lethal from long range, drilling 67 3-pointers during the season on her way to 13.5 points per game and 2.8 assists per game.

Sammi Love, Sr. G, Lehi

Versatile performer for the Pioneers who could change the game whether starting or coming off the bench, ending up with 7.3 points per game, 30 made 3-pointers and 2.3 assists per game.

Cheznie Roundy, Sr. G, Payson

High-octane athlete who always was around the ball and hit plenty of big shots for the Lions (11.4 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 34 made 3-pointers).

Addy Scrivner, Sr. G, Lehi

All-around elite leader who willed her team to victory through determination and grit, scoring 19.6 points per game with 52 made 3-pointers as well as 3.6 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game.

Jaynee Tanner, Sr. F, Maple Mountain

Vital centerpiece for the resurgent Golden Eagles who was relentless on the boards and came up big inside (11.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, 2 steals per game).

Shae Toole, Sr. G, Skyridge

Impressive leader who set the tone for the entire team, particularly when many teammates were hurt, while doing a little of everything (9.6 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 3.4 assists per game, 3.4 steals per game).

Brooke Warren, Jr. G, Salem Hills

Floor general for the Skyhawks who could make shots (12.5 points per game) or pull down important rebounds (7.9 rebounds per game).

Kennedy Woolston, So. G, Lone Peak

Talented young athlete who demonstrated her shooting (10.4 points per game, 47 made 3-pointers) while also doing the little things to help the Knights win (4.7 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game).
