Player of the Year: Mays Madsen, Jr. SS/RHP, Lehi

Mays joins brothers Mick (2016) and Maddux (2022) as recipients of the Daily Herald’s Player of the Year award. Mays batted .443 with 38 runs, 47 hits and 27 RBI. He totaled seven doubles, four triples and two home runs and stole 17 bases. He also won three games on the mound for the 6A state champs.
Offensive MVP: Cy Chrisman, So. 1B/3B, Maple Mountain
Just a sophomore, Chrisman is already one of the most feared hitters in the state. He batted .480 with 32 runs scored, 47 hits and 40 RBI. Chrisman had 12 doubles, a triple and eight home runs for a ridiculous slugging percentage of .867. He also had on on-base percentage of .575 and stole 11 bases.
Defensive MVP: Jett Walker Sr. INF, American Fork
Walker had a .900 fielding percentage from his shortstop spot with 59 put outs, 13 assists and 12 double plays. As a hitter, he batted .373 with 36 runs scored, 38 hits and 22 RBI while contributing nine doubles, two triples and two home runs. He stole 16 bases and on the mound added 43 strikeouts.
Pitching MVP: Chase Riggs Sr. P Timpanogos
Riggs mowed through the competition as a senior with a 9-1 record. He logged a miniscule .99 ERA and struck out 59 batters for the Timberwolves in 63.1 innings.
Co-Coaches of the Year: Eric Madsen, Lehi and Jeremy Thomas, Maple Mountain
Madsen, a long-time Utah Valley University coach, took over the Pioneers and in his first season pushed his team, seeded No. 5 entering the tournament, to the 6A state title. Thomas, a former BYU assistant coach, finally got the Golden Eagles their first state championship by beating Brighton in the 5A tournament.

Bennett Averett Sr. OF/RHP, Maple Mountain

Averett battled .367 with 27 runs, 29 hits, 25 RBI, seven doubles, one triple and three home runs. He was also the closer for the Golden Eagles, earning six saves and posting an ERA of 1.47.
Easton Barrett Sr. OF/P, Springville
Barrett batted .395 with 29 runs scores, 32 hits, 28 RBI, eight doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 12 stolen bases. He was also a killer on the mound with 73 strikeouts in nine appearances, posting a 1.27 ERA and a 4-0 record.
Merrick Bostock Jr. 3B, Orem
Bostock was a terror at the plate with a .455 batting average, posting 45 hits, 11 doubles, 10 triples, four home runs, 33 RBI and 45 runs scored. He added 18 stolen bases as well.
Logan Brinkerhoff Sr. INF, Provo
Brinkerhoff led the Bulldogs with a .474 batting average, scoring 25 runs, getting 37 hits and driving in 19 RBI on six doubles and two home runs.
Memphis Butler Jr. 1B, American Leadership Academy
Butler led the Eagles with a .461 batting average, scoring 29 runs, getting 35 hits and driving in 29 RBI with eight doubles and three triples.
Hernando Chaparro Sr. C/1B, Mountain View

Chaparro was a tough out for the Bruins, hitting .419 with 44 hits and 29 RBI on nine doubles and four home runs.
Will Dart Sr. SS/RHP, Spanish Fork
A four-year starter for the Dons, Dart battled .341 with 25 runs, 30 hits, 11 RBI, seven doubles, one triples and 26 stolen bases. He also struck out 66 batters and turned in an ERA of 3.98.
Easton Davies Sr. P/OF, Orem
Davies was a threat at the plate and on the mound for the Tigers. He batted .390 with 39 hits, 49 RBI, 30 runs scored, nine stolen bases, seven doubles and eight home runs. In 49.2 innings, Davies logged 67 strikeouts and had an ERA of 3.80.
Maddux DeGraffenried Jr. OF/P, Payson
DeGraffenried topped the Lions with a .402 batting average, 23 runs scored, 37 hits and 13 RBI on six doubles.
Dagen Gammell Sr. INF/P, Salem Hills
Gammell did it all for the Skyhawks, batting .367 with 19 runs scored, 36 hits, 30 RBI, ten doubles, one triple and four home runs. He also posted a 5-0 record as a pitcher with a 1.19 ERA and 64 strikeouts.
Corbin Gull Sr. INF, Salem Hills
Gull contributed a .338 batting average with 22 runs, 27 hits and 15 RBI, adding five doubles and a triple. He was 2-1 as a pitcher with a 2.51 ERA.
Tanner Heaps Sr. 1B, Lehi
Heaps had a terrific year for the Pioneers, batting .416 with 20 runs scored, 42 hits, 18 RBI, eight doubles and 20 stolen bases.
Tayson Howard Sr. INF, American Fork
Howard was a consistent performer for the Cavemen, batting .411 with 34 runs scored, 37 hits, 18 RBI, six doubles, two triples, two home runs and 15 stolen bases.
Isaac Johanson Sr. IF/OF, Skyridge
Johanson was a star for the Falcons, batting .425 with 25 runs scored, 34 hits, 40 RBI, eight doubles, two triples and seven home runs. On the mound, he posted a 6-1 record with a 3.47 ERA and 55 strikeouts.
Chase Johnston Jr. LHP, Maple Mountain
Johnston was one of the state’s top pitchers, finishing with a 6-1 record, a 2.18 ERA and 80 strikeouts.
Junior Lauaki Sr. 3B, Springville
Lauaki was a problem at the plate, batting .437 with 24 runs scored, 38 hits, 24 RBI, seven doubles and seven home runs.
Luke Livingston Sr. OF, Timpanogos
Livingston roamed the outfield for the Timberwolves and did a lot of damage at the plate, batting .400 with 29 runs scored, 38 hits, 24 RBI, four doubles, eight triples and a home run.
Owen Miller Sr. P/1B, Orem
Miller was one of the top players in the valley, batting .370 with 38 hits, 22 RBI, 23 runs scored, 12 doubles, two triples and two home runs. On the mound, Miller pitched 54.2 innings, notching 64 strikeouts and a 2.30 ERA along with a 5-1 record.
Brandon Manookin Jr. C Lehi
Manookin was a leader and a big-play contributor for the Pioneers, batting .352 with 37 hits, 31 RBI, ten doubles and six home runs.
CJ Mascaro Jr. OF/P, American Fork
Mascaro battled .394 with 33 runs scored, 37 hits, 16 RBI, 11 doubles, two home runs and 15 stolen bases. As a pitcher, he was 3-1 with 28 strikeouts and a 2.65 ERA.
Jared Monn Sr. P, Provo
Monn was overpowering on the mound, posting a 9-2 record with 59 strikeouts and a 2.44 ERA. He also battled .322 with 22 hits and 11 RBI.
Ike Pickle Sr. IF/OF, Skyridge
Pickle led the Skyhawks with a .489 batting average while totaling 35 runs scored, 45 hits, 25 RBI, seven doubles, one triple, four home runs and 13 stolen bases.
Kamden Stanford Sr. IF/OF, Skyridge
Stanford turned in a terrific senior season, batting .482 with 24 runs scored, 40 hits, 16 RBI, nine doubles, two triples and a home run.
Brighton Tate Sr. 3B/P, Timpanogos
Tate batted .398 to go along with 24 runs scored, 41 hits, 38 RBI, nine doubles, nine triples and two home runs. He was 6-3 on the mound with a 2.19 ERA and 45 strikeouts.
AJ Thomas Jr. 2B, Maple Mountain
Thomas was a great leadoff hitter for the Golden Eagles, batting .380 with 37 runs scored, 35 hits, 22 RBI, seven doubles, two triples and 13 stolen bases.
Tanner Walkenhorst Sr. 1B, Lone Peak
Walkenhorst topped the Knights with a .449 batting average and totaled 18 runs, 40 hits, 25 RBI, five doubles and two home runs.
Nixon Warren Fr. OF, Spanish Fork
Warren proved himself to be one of the top young players in the state with a .417 batting average, 21 runs scored, 35 hits, 20 RBI, five doubles, one triple and 17 stolen bases.
Cooper Williams Jr. 3B, Lehi
Williams posted a .400 batting average to go along with 36 runs scored, 42 hits, 26 RBI, seven doubles, five triples, one home run and 14 stolen bases.
Tua Wolfgramm Sr. OF, Pleasant Grove
Wolfgramm finished with a .412 batting average and added 22 runs scored, 35 hits, 32 RBI, five doubles, one triple, eight home runs and nine stolen bases.

Anderson batted .366, scoring 12 runs, getting 26 hits and driving in 15 RBI on four doubles.
Porter Beckstead Sr. C/UTIL, Payson
Beckstead batted .317 with 25 runs scored, 26 hits, 19 RBI, seven doubles, one triple and five home runs.
Blake Carter Sr. RHP, Maple Mountain
Carter was a big part of one of the best starting rotations in the state. He finished 5-0 with an ERA of 2.67 and 39 strikeouts.
Alex Cloward Sr. 1B, Salem Hills
Cloward batted .360 with 22 runs, 32 hits, 26 RBI, six doubles and one home run.
Reid Deede Jr. OF, Springville
Deede batted .338 with 18 runs scored, 22 hits, 18 RBI, eight doubles and two triples.
Boston Drakulich Jr. OF, Lehi
Drakulich batted .350 with 25 runs scored, 36 hits, 26 RBI, seven doubles, three triples and two home runs.
