Best of the Best: 2025 All-Valley Girls Lacrosse Team

Player of the Year: Summer Buechner Fr. MF, Skyridge

Buechner burst onto the high school scene with an all-time performance as a freshman, finishing with 165 total points on 75 goals and 90 assists. The assists total is second in the country according to MaxPreps and the point total is a top 10 mark. Beuchner scored in double figures five times this season, including a pair of 11-point performances against Springville and Bountiful, respectively. Buechner’s play led the young Falcons team to a semifinal berth in the 6A state tournament.
Offensive MVP: Brooke Warren, Sr., Salem Hills
Warren helped lead the Skyhawks basketball team into the 5A semifinals in February and followed that up with a stunning performance in lacrosse. Salem Hills was the No. 2 seed and advanced to the semifinals behind the athletic Warren, who totaled 94 points on 70 goals and 24 assists while adding 324 draw controls.
Defensive MVP: Elise Hume, Fr. GK, Lone Peak
Hume is already a master at the toughest position in the game. As a freshman, Hume surrendered just 6.9 goals per match and had 70 saves in 162 shots on goal, a save percentage of .432.
Co-Coaches of the Year: Cliff Yerkes, Salem Hills and Michelle Buechner, Skyridge
The Skyhawks cruised through the regular season with a 17-1 record, their only loss to 6A Bingham. Salem Hills was just 1-14 in 2023 and made huge progress this season under Yerkes, advancing to the semifinals before losing to eventual 5A runner-up Olympus.
Buechner took perhaps the youngest team in the state and pushed the Falcons to a 17-4 record. Skyridge advanced to the 6A semifinals with an exciting 13-12 overtime win against rival Lone Peak in the quarterfinal round.

Kaia Anderson, Sr. ATT/MF, Wasatch
Anderson totaled 81 goals and finished with 86 total points, 40 ground balls and 71 draw controls.
Ella Chamberlain Jr. GK, Salem Hills
Chamberlain was excellent in goal for the Skyhawks, giving up just 6.5 goals per match and totaling 108 saves with a save percentage of .462.

Ella Clark, Sr. MF, Cedar Valley
Clark scored 71 goals for the Aviators and had 76 points, 75 ground balls and 64 draw controls.
Claire Corbridge, So. MF, American Fork
Corbridge led the Cavemen with 57 goals, 61 points, 55 ground balls and 65 draw controls.

Myka Elliott, Jr. GK, Payson
Elliott kept the Lions in every match and surrendered just 7.3 goals per match with 134 saves, a save percentage of .494.
Sophia Fife, Fr. ATT, Skyridge
Part of the Falcons fabulous freshman crew, Fife had 45 goals and 21 assists for 66 points and added 45 ground balls.
Eleanor Haslam, Sr. MF, Timpanogos
Haslam finished with 39 points (31 goals, eight assists), 49 ground balls and 76 draw controls.
Ryann Hatch, Jr.MF/ATT, Orem
Hatch was a machine for the Tigers, totaling 93 goals, 95 points and 88 ground balls
Tessa Jamison, Jr. ATT, Skyridge
Jamison was a solid option for the Falcons with 56 goals and 60 total points.
Anna Jaussi, Jr. ATT, Provo
Jaussi was an unstoppable force on offense for the Bulldogs and amassed 84 goals, 100 total points and 66 ground balls.
Tenley Layton, Sr. GK, Provo
Layton was great in goal for the Bulldogs with a 7.5 goals against average and 138 saves for a save percentage of .502.
Ruby Lindstrom, So. MF, Salem Hills
Lindstrom totaled 31 goals and contributed 51 ground balls for the Skyhawks.
Norah Lisonbee, Jr. MF, Lone Peak
Lisonbee was a force for the Knights with 66 goals, 76 total points, 32 ground balls and 128 draw controls.
Emma Martin, Jr. MF, Provo
Martin was all over the field for the Bulldogs, totaled 124 ground balls and 83 draw controls to go along with 12 goals, eight assists and 20 total points.
Miley Miller, Jr. MF, Payson
Miller made an impact every match for the Lions and finished with 56 goals, 12 assists, 68 points and 97 ground balls.
Ashlyn Moser, So. ATT, Provo
Moser made the most of her time on the field with 73 total points on 31 goals and 42 assists.
Izzy Moyes, Sr. MF, Provo
Moyes was terrific for the Bulldogs all year and ended up with 82 total points on 65 goals and 17 assists while adding 57 ground balls and 60 draw controls.
Sadie Neuenschwander, Sr. MF, Lone Peak
Neuenschwander knew what to do with the ball on her stick and finished with 78 total points (69 goals, nine assists) as well as 55 ground balls and 96 draw controls.
Ellie Palmer, Fr. MF, Skyridge
Palmer put up great numbers as a freshman with 67 goals and 23 assists for 90 total points while adding 32 ground balls.
Myarae Pilati, Sr. MF, Maple Mountain
Pilati had 41 goals and five assists for 46 points, then added 24 ground balls and 96 draw controls for the Golden Eagles.
Sydney Schultz, Sr. MF, Pleasant Grove
Schultz did it all for the Vikings with 90 total points (61 goals, 29 assists) as well as 32 ground balls and 82 draw controls.
Addiy Sellers, So. GK, Timpanogos
Sellers had a great year for the T-Wolves with a 5.2 goals against average and 71 saves for a save percentage of .500.
Tayah Smith, Sr. DEF, Maple Mountain
Smith was second in the state with 43 turnovers caused, and totaled 25 ground balls and 11 goals for the Golden Eagles.
Leah Sorensen, Sr. MF, Payson
Sorensen led the Lions with a strong performance as a senior, posting 68 total points (43 goals, 23 assists) and amassed 116 ground balls and 184 draw controls.
Emery Stohlton, Sr. ATT, Cedar Valley
Stohlton totaled 70 points (49 goals, 21 assists), 24 ground balls and 51 draw controls for the Aviators.
Taylor Sulz, Jr. MF, Pleasant Grove
Sults put up 67 points (58 goals, nine assists) along with 61 ground balls and 68 draw controls.

Suri did her job for the Knights with 50 total points (38 goals, 12 assists) and 26 ground balls.

Freshman Summer Buechner joins her sister, River, as a winner of the Daily Herald’s Valley Player of the Year. River Buechner, who plays collegiately at Division III power Pomona Pitzer, won back-to-back awards for Skyridge in 2021 and 2022. Another sister, Haven, plays collegiately at the University of Richmond and Cabell, a junior at Skyridge, won the 2025 All-Valley Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year.
