Here are the top baseball players in the Utah Valley area for 2025.

Player of the Year: CJ Mascaro, Sr. OF/P, American Fork

Mascaro was a consistent threat at the plate for one of the best offensive teams in the state, hitting .407 while scoring 45 runs, getting 44 hits and driving in 30 runs. He totaled 29 extra-base hits (12 doubles, seven triples and 10 home runs) and stole 12 bases with posting an on-base average of .504 and a slugging percentage of .926. Mascaro’s offensive production alone would be enough to consider him for player of the year but what cemented his status is a perfect 7-0 record on the mound with a 1.59 ERA, giving up just six earned runs in 26.1 innings of work.

Offensive MVP: Cy Chrisman, Jr. IF, Maple Mountain

Chrisman set a new state record for home runs with 19 while hitting .461. He tallied 46 runs and 41 hits while leading the state in RBI with 59, adding five doubles and two triples to his homers for a ridiculous 1.202 slugging percentage. Chrisman earned 24 walks and posted an on-base percentage of .578.

Defensive MVP: Nixon Warren, So. OF, Spanish Fork

The Dons were truly a team with many contributors but the speedy Warren did his fair share. He patrolled the outfield for Spanish Fork with 66 total chances, 62 put outs, three assists and one error for a .985 fielding percentage. Warren led the Dons with a .358 batting average, scored 34 runs, tallied 43 hits and drove in 18 runs with 10 doubles and six triples.

Pitching MVP: Chase Johnston, Sr. LHP, Maple Mountain

Johnston was nearly untouchable in 2025, finishing with a perfect 11-0 record and a miniscule 0.63 earned run average. He struck out 111 batters in just 66.2 innings of work and held opponents to a .162 batting average. Johnston also managed to hit .299, scored 13 runs, managed 26 hits and drove in 18 runs with five doubles, a triple and a home run.

Co-Coaches of the Year: Jarod Ingersoll, American Fork and Hadley Thorpe, Spanish Fork

American Fork is one of the state’s best programs and Ingersoll’s 2025 team was dominant from start to finish. The Cavemen finished the season on a 15-game winning streak and went undefeated (7-0) during the 6A state tournament.

Thorpe’s Dons struggled during the regular season but put together an amazing stretch in the 5A tournament, winning 10 of 11 games to claim the state title as a No. 20 seed.
