Valley Top 5: Skyridge football gets their shot at Corner Canyon this week

FOOTBALL

1. Lone Peak (5-1)

Knights knock off No. 1 Corner Canyon for second straight season.

2. Skyridge (5-1)

Falcons won battle for Lehi supremacy with Pioneers in a shootout.

3. American Fork (5-1)

Cavemen aren’t the first team to struggle stopping Tradon Bessinger.

4. Lehi (4-2)

Eka, Glasker are explosive players who will keep Pioneers in every game.

5. Orem (4-2)

Tigers vs. T-Birds this week, always entertaining.

GIRLS SOCCER

1. Lone Peak (11-1-1)

The Knights are hitting their stride during a so-called ‘rebuilding year’ and squashed Corner Canyon last week 5-0.

2. Timpview (12-1)

The Thunderbirds outscored both Payson and Salem Hills by a combined 7-0 score last week.

3. Spanish Fork (10-3)

The Dons had a big week, taking big wins over both Springville and Pleasant Grove.

4. Mountain View (9-3)

The Bruins have now won four straight, notching wins over both Provo and Timpanogos last week.

5. American Fork (7-4)

The Cavemen reenter the rankings due to big wins over both Skyridge and Lehi.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

1. Skyridge (15-0)

Falcons eager for first shot at Lone Peak on Tuesday.

2. Orem (14-2)

Tigers face biggest Region 8 test against Mountain View this week.

3. Lone Peak (12-6)

Knights at Durango Classic.

4. American Fork (13-3)

Macy Melville (213 kills, 4.3 per set) is a problem for opponents.

5. Mountain View (12-4)

New coach Zach Richardson has Bruins competing at top of Region 8.
