Daily Herald writers Darnell Dickson and Brandon Gurney rank the top five Utah Valley teams in baseball, boys soccer, softball, boys volleyball, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse for the week of April 13.

BASEBALL

1. Lone Peak 13-0

Senior OF Landon Fry is a very tough out (.487, 14 RBI).

2. Timpanogos 17-2

Three games with Provo this week in key Region 8 battle.

3. Spanish Fork 13-2

Dons offense went cold in two losses to Pleasant Grove.

4. Pleasant Grove 9-6

Vikings have superior pitching that make them a threat in 5A.

5. Maple Mountain 13-2

Junior Kavyn Carter is a stud on the mound (4-1, 0.86 ERA, 32 K’s).

BOYS SOCCER

1. Lone Peak 9-1

Patrick Stevenson knows how to put the ball into the back of the net (6 goals scored)

2. Pleasant Grove 10-0

Superior defensive efforts have been a hallmark for the Vikings

3. Skyridge 7-4

Falcons have an opportunity to serve notice with a game versus Lone Peak on Wednesday

4. Provo 7-3

Paced by Tony Haro’s team-high nine goals, the Bulldogs continue to impress

5. Westlake 7-3

Thunder gearing up for big games versus Herriman and Riverton

1. Salem Hills 16-0

Skyhawks won four straight during a Saturday tournament

2. Lehi 16-2

Powered by leading sluggers like Piper Emery and Mya Maughan, the Pioneers are rolling

3. Westlake 11-2

Thunder took the entire week off, but has a busy week versus top competition, including Riverton, ahead

4. Maple Mountain 12-6

Golden Eagles showed strong in a Saturday tournament featuring several top 6A teams

5. Spanish Fork 12-6

Dons will be tested this week in games versus top-ranked Salem Hill and Springville

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

1. Wasatch 17-1

14 straight wins and 42-4 in sets makes Wasps No. 1.

2. Lone Peak 16-5

Ten wins in a row since loss to Wasatch in March.

3. Lehi 17-2

Match of the week is Lehi-Lone Peak, with Pioneers seeking revenge for earlier loss.

4. Maple Mountain 17-3

Another good matchup is Maple Mountain-Wasatch this week.

5. Mountain View 16-5

Senior  setter Adam Mayo keeps Bruins offense running at high efficiency.

Caleb Buechner seven goals, two assists in 16-10 win vs. Menlo (Calif.).

2. Timpview 10-1

Tough week for the T-Birds hosting Payson, then at Springville.

Thunder starting Region 2 play with Riverton, Bingham.

4. Pleasant Grove 8-2

Sophomore Quinn Lawrence is a force (29 goals, 17 assists).

5. Springville 8-2

Spring break over, Red Devis have big home matches with PG, Timpview.
