Outlook: Pleasant Grove finished 1-10 in 2024 and Jeremy Lapan helped the Vikings to a 4-7 mark in Year 1. PG was 4-3 in Region 7, so improvement continues to be the theme.

Huntsman, who caught 50 passes for 692 yards and five touchdowns last season, and Wilkes (20-352-1) will be a threats at receiver and Wolfgramm hopes to increase his numbers at running back (85 carries, 349 yards, three TD’s).The quarterback returning is senior Connor Ybarra (1,768 yards passing, eight TD’s last year) with senior Cannon Jacobson and junior Jett Christofferson pushing for playing time.

Brinton led the Vikings in tackles last season with 90 and Mortensen will anchor the middle of the defense.

Pleasant Grove’s schedule is challenging, hosting two 6A teams — American Fork and Westlake — to open the season.

“We have a number of talented multi-sport athletes who bring competitiveness, toughness and a tremendous work ethic to our program,” Lapan told the Deseret News. “We also return a strong core of experienced players who have logged significant varsity playing time, giving us valuable leadership and continuity. In addition, we’ve added several talented young athletes who are ready to compete and contribute. Our coaching staff’s challenge will be identifying the best roles for each player and putting them in positions to maximize their strengths.”
