Head Coach: Nolan Nielsen (new in 2026)
2025 record: 5-6 overall, 2-3 Region 8 (4th)
Playoffs: Lost to Crimson Cliffs 48-27, 4A second round
Players to Watch: Ian Longhurst 6-1 185 Sr. WR/DB, Tevita Mounga 6-3 235 Sr. TE/DE, Logan Holloway 5-10 170 Jr. QB/ATH, Zack McCann 5-9 170 Sr. WR/DB, Richard Afoa 5-10 260 Jr. OL/DL, Andrew Sanders 6-4 250 Sr. OL/DL
Outlook: Nielsen takes over the program after spending the past several seasons on the American Fork staff.
“Going into Year 1 with a new coaching staff and a new scheme, the players have really bought in,” Nielsen said. “They’ve worked hard this offseason and are excited to get back on the field. We have a decent amount of starters returning and a nice blend of some new faces that we believe can make a big impact this year. We really believe we can compete with anyone and look forward to the opportunity. Our motto for the season is ‘Win As One,’ really working together as a team to win on and off the field.”
Replacing quarterback Andrew Hillstead (5,597 yards, 56 touchdowns the past two seasons) is a big order, but there are some talented offensive players returning in Holloway, Mounga and McCann. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Mounga will be a beast on the defensive side with Afoa and Sanders anchoring the lines.
“Our strength is our senior leadership,” Nielsen said. “We have a large group of seniors who have really bought into the culture and system. We feel really confident in the trenches as well.”
What is your favorite team-building activity? “We’ve been lucky to have multiple speakers come,” Nielsen said. “The players really get a chance to interact with each other and grow a stronger bond together as a team.”
Speakers have included former BYU and NFL running back Jamaal Williams and mental strength coach Nate Porter.
