UMA-Camp Williams head coach Ephraim Schulte instructs his team during a fourth quarter time out in a high school football game with UMA-Hill Field on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2025.Head Coach: Ephraim Schulte (2nd season)
2025 record: 5-5 overall, 4-2 1A 8-player
Playoffs: Lost to Milford 58-0 1A 8-player Quarterfinals
Players to Watch: Tyler Muse 6-0 170 Sr. DE/TE, James Sullivan 5-10 165 Jr. LB/RB, Justin Osamudiamen 5-9 165 Jr. LB/RB, Jordan Gardner 5-11 160 Jr. QB/S, Kerry Saloman 6-2 330 Sr. OL/DL
Outlook: Schulte said the numbers are down in the program overall but enough talent returns for optimism in his second season at UMACW.
“We graduated 11 seniors,” Schulte said. “We had a couple of kids transfer back to public school and we had an ACL injury with who would be our starting quarterback this summer. But we were 5-5 last season and kind of in the middle of the pack, and we’re close in skill development and competitiveness right there again.”
Muse and Sullivan are both three-year starters and three-year captains. Muse totaled 17 touchdowns last season and Sullivan led the team in all-purpose yards. Osamudiamen has led the team in tackles the past two seasons and Schulte said he thinks Saloman could play at the college level if he gets some expose this year.
“Rich and Milford played for the championship last year in 8-man and they are the top dogs again,” Schulte said. “Monticello probably No. 3. Our schedule is tough because we play all four semifinalists. But we’re right there with Atamont, St. Joseph, UMA-Hill Field and Whitehorse. If we can go 3-1 against those teams, we’ll see where the seeding falls at state.”
What is your favorite team-building activity? “One of the traditions I had as a player that I’ve chosen to continue are team dinners on Thursday nights,” Schulte said. “It’s an excellent opportunity for the players to get to know each other better. I’ve always thought that love is best motivator. If you love your teammate you’re more capable of trusting each other and more willing to put your body on the line for each other.”
