Sacramento State defeated Utah Valley University 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at John Smith Field in Sacramento, California to sweep the weekend series.

The Hornets (28-23, 17-13 WAC) used early runs and solid pitching to keep in front of Utah Valley (16-35, 9-18 WAC). The Wolverines brought home two runs but could not rally from behind.

Moralez reached base in the eighth after being hit by a pitch. Cutchen lined a ball right at the Hornet first baseman, who tagged first for a double play.
