Utah Valley's Kaylee Headrick scored 18 points in a 75-52 loss at the University of Utah on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025.

SALT LAKE CITY – Kaylee Headrick had a career-high 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting as Utah Valley fell to Utah, 75-52, on Tuesday night at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Utah (3-0) finished 13-for-25 on 3-pointers in the game, led by Lani White, who scored 16 points, including going 3-for-6 from deep.

“I was proud of our effort tonight. I thought we made Utah uncomfortable at times and that we created a lot of quality shots,” said UVU head coach Dan Nielson. “I would’ve liked to have closed the game on a sharper note, but I thought we got better tonight. If we play that way the rest of the season, we’ll win a lot of games.”

The Wolverines slowed down the Utes’ offense early in the first quarter and took an early lead after buckets from Amanda Barcello and Headrick to go up 4-0. After Utah responded with a 10-0 run, UVU cut into the Utes’ lead with a layup in the post by Tessa Chaney before Saige Gibb came off the bench and hit a jumper to make it 10-8. Headrick scored the final four points of the quarter, starting with a putback layup before she made a driving runner as time expired to make it 13-12.

Headrick continued her fast start in the second quarter with a layup in the paint to open the scoring. Barcello buried a triple to cut the Utah lead to 20-17. The Utes quickly went on a run to extend their lead midway through the quarter and took a 30-20 advantage into halftime.

The Wolverines went on a 9-2 run early in the third quarter that started with a basket by Halle Nelson before Cambree Blackham knocked down a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws to bring the score to 34-27. Utah Valley cut the deficit down to five when Barcello made a second-chance layup, but that was as close as UVU would get the rest of the way.

Utah pulled away in the fourth quarter with strong shooting from the outside. Blackham finished with 11 points in the contest on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Six of her 11 points came in the final frame.

Nelson finished with a season-high 12 rebounds in the contest. Barcello finished with nine points, and Chaney added six in the game.
