Moms Gear: Kids’ desk gives new perspective to ‘TV tray’ for kids
Whether it’s cutting out projects on the sofa or sitting up and coloring in bed, B. Toys’ You Hue provides a way for children to transport their creative fun around.
Made for children ages 2 to 10, the You Hue is a small plastic table – think TV table without the focus on the TV — with a flat surface that offers ease for coloring, drawing or whatever might be on a kid’s mind. Children can reach for any of the magic markers located at the top of the tray, which has six deep slots specifically for marker storage – yes, marker storage! The You Hue also comes with a set of 10 non-toxic washable markers so you don’t have to find the ones randomly strewn about your home when it arrives.
The You Hue has three compartments on the sides for additional storage and the top opens up to hold flat items underneath (think a plastic lizard or the book “Dinosaur Days,” for examples).
The You Hue is BPA-, lead-, and phthalate-free. All of B. Toys are packaged in recycled materials and come with a nifty gift tag should the product be for a friend. The table, about 24 inches across and 13 inches high, is available for $24.95 through www.onestepahead.com.
Ours is certainly a hit: it’s moved so often, it can be difficult to find. As for eating, it’s also been seen in the backyard functioning as a dining tray.
