Utah Valley Student of the Week: Andrea Ramirez

By John Hancock Charter School - | Feb 3, 2016

Andrea Ramirez is a second grade student at John Hancock Charter School. She was chosen as the Daily Herald’s Utah Valley Student of the Week.

Ramirez is a good student and strong leader in her class and works hard to be kind to others. After school, she is involved in gymnastics and horseback riding.

Ramirez is very sensitive to the needs and feelings of the other students in her class and school. When she found out that a kindergartner at her school was going to lose her hair due to cancer treatments, Ramirez didn’t think twice about cutting her long, beautiful hair to donate to Locks of Love. When she was asked if she was really sure she wanted to cut off her thick, dark hair, Ramirez matter-of-factly replied, “My hair will grow back. Some kids’ hair won’t. I’m doing it!”

When she’s older, Ramirez has figured out how she can incorporate her love of horses and her love of people into a career. She wants to own a big horse ranch so that she can help kids feel better by working with horses. We love Ramirez!

Starting at $4.32/week.
