Provo’s Modern Shoe wins award, New holistic clinic opens in Payson
Provo’s Modern Shoe wins footwear award
Modern Shoe recently was named a winner of the Waldy Award for achieving a perfect score in customer service as part of the Gold Medal Service Awards for Outstanding Customer Service presented by Footwear Insight magazine.
Modern Shoe was one of four stores across the nation that achieved a perfect score. Modern Shoe was joined by three other Waldlaufer Waldy winners: Chandler’s Walk Shoppe of Salt Lake City, Walking Comfort of Centerville, and Tops For Shoes of Asheville, North Carolina. The stores were featured in the September/October 2018 issue of Footwear Insight.
“Customer service is the best way that independent shoe stores can win out over bigger stores and online competitors,” said Jennifer Ernst Beaudry, editor of Footwear Insight, in a press release. “It’s also the best way stores can take care of their customers and build a loyal following.”
The Gold Medal Service Awards are presented to stores that earn a score of 70 or better based on the results of a mystery shopping evaluation authorized by Footwear Insight and conducted by an independent third party mystery shopping firm. In total, seventy-eight stores were named Gold Medal Service Award winners for 2018, but only the four Waldy Award winning stores achieved perfect scores.
“Modern Shoe should be very proud of their achievement and prouder still to share it with their shoppers and their community,” Beaudry said. “We evaluated more than 120 stores and those that made the list represent the absolute best of those stores.”
This marks the fourth year Footwear Insight has presented The Gold Medal Service Awards. The Gold Medal Service Awards are open to all independently owned shoe stores and regional chains that have significant shoe businesses. National chains running stores and sports specialty stores are not eligible.
New holistic and chiropractic clinic opens in Payson
Dr. Thor Mongie opened a new chiropractic and holistic clinic on Main Street in Payson, after renovating the inside of a 115-year-old building at 2 N. Main St. in Payson. The building was originally a drug store, serving as such until 1978. Mongie said he feels like he’s restored its purpose by opening Balanced Health there.
Mongie brings 14 years of experience to the new clinic. He previously practiced in an alternative medicine clinic in Las Vegas, and has a unique “wholistic approach” to health. He uses a combination of techniques to bring the body back into balance through low force chiropractic adjusting, craniosacral therapy, kinesiology, nutritional deficiency therapy, frequency therapy and releasing trapped negative emotions.
Mongie will hold a health lecture, “Understand How Structural, Nutritional, and Emotional Imbalances Can Affect Your Health,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Balanced Health offices, 2 N. Main Street in Payson. For more information, visit https://balancedhealthofpayson.com.
