Spring City Elementary hustled through a dynamic period from the end of October through the first week of November. The eventful schedule kicked off on Oct. 27 with the Spring City PTA spearheading a delightful fall carnival. The carnival, attended by students and their families, featured a plethora of enjoyable games and a captivating magic show, spreading joy and cheer throughout the school.
Following the engaging carnival, the institution enthusiastically embraced Red Ribbon week, commencing on October 30th. The corridors bloomed with teachers’ doors adorned with inspiring messages of “just say no to drugs.” Throughout the week, students actively participated in a range of enjoyable activities, including pajama day, crazy socks day, hat day, and RED-y to live drug-free day (where students were encouraged to wear red). The engaging participation of students in each class was acknowledged through daily voting for the best participation. Moreover, every student was presented with a red ribbon, each marked with a unique number. Daily draws of random numbers resulted in exciting prizes for the winners.
Halloween, the much-anticipated holiday, was joyously celebrated at Spring City Elementary. Students and teachers showcased their creativity and Halloween spirit by dressing up in an array of silly, scary, and wacky costumes. The afternoon festivities were highlighted by an indoor parade down the school’s halls, allowing students to display their costumes to the delight of teachers and staff. An outdoor costume parade further extended the excitement, inviting parents and families to revel in the imaginative and spirited displays.
Mrs. Elise Hanson, the esteemed school counselor, orchestrated a thoughtful and informative puppet show with the participation of sixth-grade students. This engaging performance served to underscore the perils of sharing prescription drugs, imparting essential knowledge to the student body.
The collective events and activities of the week were a resounding success, fostering an atmosphere of fun, learning, and community engagement at Spring City Elementary.
