The full Utah Valley calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:
1.Utah Renaissance Faire
Mt. Nebo Botanical Farm, Mona, Aug. 22-23, 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
For the 13th consecutive year, this weekend provides an opportunity to step back in time at the annual Utah Renaissance Faire in Mona. The two-day event will feature classic activities like jousting and melee combat, as well as music, food, dancing, entertainment, costumes and re-enactments.
For more information and find an event near you, go to utahrenfaire.utahvalleyarts.com.
2. Chalk the Block For Charity Utah
Shops at Riverwoods, Provo, Aug. 21-23
You may think of the doodling done by children on the driveway when you think of chalk art but that’s not what you’ll see if you go to the Riverwoods in Provo on Aug. 21. According to the website, “Chalk the Block For Charity Utah™ is a free, three-day street art festival where artists must complete their entire work using chalk. Every year artists spend hours chalking the streets, transforming the parking lots of the Shops at Riverwoods into a captivating, one of a kind experience.”
For complete details, go to chalktheblockutah.org.
3. Rowley’s Red Barn Sunflower Festival 2025
Rowley’s Red Barn, Santaquin, 5:30-8:30 p.m. (Aug. 9-24)
You may not think of August as a time for seeing the flower, but that’s not the case at Rowley’s Red Barn in Santaquin. This is the perfect time to check out the brilliant yellows of a field of sunflowers. “The brilliance of the sunflower bloom surprises us each year. Come enjoy the bright colors of summer during the Sunflower Festival!” the website says.
