BYU’s Lily Owens named to Softball America Preseason Top 100 list

BYU softball utility player Lily Owens came in at No. 74 on the Softball America Preseason Top 100 list, the outlet announced on Monday morning.

Owens, a junior infielder/outfielder, was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Midwest Region First Team last season after playing in 51 of the Cougars’ 54 games, starting 48 of them.

The Chino Hills, California native recorded the second-most runs scored (39) and RBI (40), and the third-best batting average (.348) on the team in 2024, also hitting the fourth-most home runs (6).

Owens totaled 54 hits, including six doubles and two triples, going 9-for-9 on stolen bases as well. She finished the 2024 campaign with a .529 slugging percentage, .366 on-base percentage and .914 fielding percentage.
