Here is where to celebrate Pioneer Day in Utah County

Here are some of the events happening throughout Utah County this week to observe Pioneer Day.
Orem
- Pioneer Day Celebration: University Place will be hosting a Pioneer Day celebration Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. The event will have various performances, local vendors and a pie-eating contest. The event will finish off with a fireworks show around 9:30 p.m. A portion of the shopping center’s parking will be closed for the event and fireworks show, so using the UVX bus is encouraged.
Provo
- Pioneer Day Extravaganza: Provo City will be hosting a “Pioneer Day Extravaganza” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Park. At the event, there will be food trucks, music performances, a pie-eating contest and a baking competition. The Provo Pioneer Village, located at North Park, also will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Olympic Announcement Party: While Utahns are celebrating Pioneer Day, the state also will be celebrating the anticipated announcement coming the same day of the Winter Olympics’ return to Utah in 2034. Provo will be hosting a celebration at the Peaks Ice Arena, where Olympic events were held in 2002, with free ice skating starting at 6 p.m. There also will be a fireworks show held at about 9:30 p.m.
Spanish Fork
- Fiesta Days: The annual Spanish Fork Fiesta Days will have a full schedule on Pioneer Day, including a grand parade at 9 a.m. through the city. Carnival rides and games plus food vendors will be set up at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds and other performances and entertainment will occur at City Park. The final night of the Fiesta Days Rodeo at the fairgrounds will be Wednesday at 7:30 and then a large fireworks show will be held at the Sports Park after the rodeo ends around 10 p.m.
