“The Good Ship Murder” continues to dock at some of the most beautiful ports in the Mediterranean. The third season of murder and fun on the high seas sets sail as “The Good Ship Murder” continues to dock at some of the most beautiful ports in the Mediterranean. Jack Grayling (Shayne Ward) left the ship at the end of last season, but due to the murder of a passenger he is brought back, and after a successful solution to the case Jack rejoins the crew on the MSC Virtuosa, a real cruise ship.
Being a former police detective, Jack knows his way around a crime scene, but he also knows his way around a stage with a microphone. His job on the ship is the lounge singer, but as viewers know, he utilizes his detecting abilities more than his singing talent. This ship always seems to have a mysterious murder connected with it, and the relationships on board are also complicated. Will Jack and his former girlfriend, First Officer Kate Woods (Catherine Tyldesley) rekindle their relationship? It looks promising.
Zak Douglas returns as Jamil, a bartender and all-around helper on the ship. And Geoffrey Breton also returns as Piers de Vreese. Others on board are James Barriscale as Captain Marlowe who reluctantly agrees to Jack’s return, and Yuna Shin as the ship’s doctor Sharon Tan.
Navigating the seas and their personal lives is just part of the series. While there is plenty of drama between the characters as they set about solving crimes, the scenery and flavor off the various ports adds to the entertainment and enjoyment of the show. The ship itself is beautiful, but the locations they visit are also spectacular.
In a statement on the MSC website from Antonio Paradiso, VP of International Sales at MSC Cruises, he said, “We’re delighted to welcome back ‘The Good Ship Murder’ for Season 3 aboard MSC Virtuosa, bringing the excitement of the ship and its amazing facilities into viewers’ living rooms. Audiences will be captivated by the thrilling storyline, while also getting a glimpse of life on board and the wide range of experiences our guests enjoy at each destination.”
The drama and intrigue this season takes the ship to a variety of ports-o-call: Alicante, Cannes, Istanbul, Crete, Cape Verde, Valletta, Ibiza, and Ancona.
There are eight episodes in the season, beginning with their Christmas Special which aired overseas a while ago. The show can be streamed on BritBox through their site, app, or as an additional subscription to Prime Video.
The finale of the season is a shocker! “The Good Ship Murder” has already been renewed for season 4 with some new additions to the cast.
“The Good Ship Murder” has its own fan club as does Shayne Ward, who has had some chart-topping hits in the UK. Ward won the “The X Factor” in 2005 and his career has been steady since. The series gives him the opportunity to show off his singing along with his acting, which is something he did not get to do when he was in the hit series “Coronation Street.”
