Once again, Provo residents are in for a treat this Independence Day weekend. On Wednesday, Freedom Festival organizers announced that this year’s Stadium of Fire concert will be headlined by country music superstar Tim McGraw.

McGraw is returning to the festival after appearing in 2016, when he headlined the sold-out show for the first time. Now, he’ll be back after years of being requested by residents to take the stage.

“McGraw is one of the most successful artists in the history of country music. In addition to selling more than 80 million records worldwide and dominating the charts with 44 No. 1 singles, McGraw is an author, actor, and outspoken philanthropist,” reads an email sent out by the Freedom Festival.

With almost 30 years of experience under his belt buckle, McGraw is a country music staple. He is best known for a host of songs including “Don’t Take the Girl,” “Please Remember Me” and “Live Like You Were Dying.”

In addition to McGraw will be Utah’s own Marie Osmond. The email pointed out both Osmond’s roots to the state and her multiple platinum- and gold-selling albums, along with multiple New York Times bestselling books.

The 2021 Stadium of Fire was headlined by Lee Greenwood and was a return for the event after being canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19. Other past headlines include Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Miley Cyrus and many more.

According to the festival website, there will not be a Street Heat or Tailgate, as is normally held in the west parking lot of LaVell Edwards Stadium.

With a theme of “MORE FIRE,” organizers are hoping to add more spectacle and splendor to the annual show. Also announced with the artists was a declaration of the “BIGGEST” fireworks show in the country and a flyover from F-35s stationed at Hill Air Force Base.

Tickets can be purchased online beginning at 1 p.m. March 25 at stadiumoffire.com with early purchasing options available for email subscribers. Tickets will cost between $35 and $250.
